It's almost Winter Carnival time!

No frosty fingers kite flying on a lake :(

There is nothing quite like flying a kite on a frozen lake, it's cold but fun. The wind currents are interesting.

That looks like a fun time. Take pictures of the ice sculptures and castles and post them, please.

It might be quite cold. Right now it is above freezing which is 40+ degrees warmer than last weekend, a heat wave for us ;)

It's kinda cold here too, warmer than recently though. It's raining and for some reason we have ice on ground. I slip and fell coming off the curb on my way to the store. Think I sprained my wrist trying to break my fall, it still hurts.

Ice it? Use Yaktrax when it's icy? I always test the ground first with one foot to check iciness, it doesn't always work but it helps.

You can try ibuprofen to for swelling too. Does it work ok?

Yeah it's good, just hurts and little when I move it. I'm going to wrap it if it continues to hurt. I wasn't expecting it to be ice so I came off the curb all willy nilly. I learned my lesson lol.

The yaktrax are better for hard snow. You need something sharper for hard ice. These work very well: link

Do you have a polar bear swim?

There was one last month and another this month, around here. Winter Carnival time (Fur Rondy) isn't until the end of February, here. Used to be mid-Feb but they changed it to match up with the Iditarod start.

I actually use something that is 1/2 yaktrax like, 1/2 like those. Not sure Newark, where Smooth lives, gets hard ice.
