I always use the back two, out of habit, because children. right first, because i'm right handed.

Makes sense, because being left handed I do the opposite. Except for the fifth burner in the middle which I avoid altogether.

How about the one that doesn't have food slopped all over it.

The middle one in the back.

It is a warming zone...

The front left one is a three-ring burner that you can adjust to the size of the pot or pan on it.

left rear, its closer to the countertop and therefore easier to transfer eggs or what have you into the skillet

I get irritated when people who aren't entirely alone in the house use a front burner. especially if there are kiddies or oldies around. it's too easy to accidentally touch a front burner once the pot is of it.

Well, it depends. If I'm just boiling an egg, then it's the front right. Boiling a large pot for pasta and such, I go with the center burner that has the after-burner feature for...rapidly boiling large pots of water. If we use the griddle, then it's the two left burners because they have a synchronization function. Cooking with gas is the bomb!

I like the front right one for smaller pots, but will use the left front one on a small pot because it will boil water 1.12 minutes faster than the right front burner. According to my burner usage log, I use the left front burner 67% of the time, followed by the right front burner 27% of the time. The left rear burner 4% of the time and the rear left burner 3% of the time. I tend to use the rear burners as resting spots for food to rest after cooking. The left front burner is 27% easier to clean being 16.5 inches closer to the sink. Plus the left front burner is closer to the food cabinets, as well as the cutting board, but farther away from flatware and the refrigerator. I also like being able to have my beer on my right, and away from the left front burner. The left front burner also has a more attractive shade of dark gray compare to the other burners, and is sometimes highlighted by food crumbs around the burner before I clean it.

Anything else you want to know about my favorite burner?

What's wrong with that? They only do it once.....

This turned out to be a much more difficult choice than I anticipated.

Best Mike Yates thread ever. I voted front left, even though I'm right handed. It's just the way I am. My wife says we should use all the burners equally. It's just the way she is.

I didn't vote, I use the one that's the most appropriate size (there are 3 different size burners on my stove).
