That I bought myself a sonic screwdriver? And no I can't claim I'm collecting it, that puppy got popped out of the package and pointed at various people and objects. I love my sonic screwdriver.

The screwdriver popped out of it's packaging and was pointing at people?

I am guessing that Robert Pattinson and Matt Smith are cousins. *foreheads*
Peter Capald is growing on me, but he is not my cup of tea.

*screwdriver wars!*

Which version did you get ?

It's okay, I think I am going to ride inside a Dalek soon. :D

Neci, if you come in early March you can be inside a Dalek too!

Welcome to the club.

Which doctor's screwdriver do you have? We have the Tennant one.

We love our screwdriver too.

EDIT: I just realized that that you mentioned the Matt Smith thing.

Okay, you can come too! I know the Dalek builder, he is a sweetie. I am sure if we all twinkle at him nicely, or even just admire his dalek, he'll give all of us a chance to be inside.

whoah

"The first servo appears to be the original prop. The antennae are curved and the knurled rings are flush with the barrel. It has a chromed finish."

"The second is a typical replica made for the collectors’ market. The antennae are straight and the knurled rings are raised."

"The last is from the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas, and is a third version of the servo."

Then, again, Dr. Who has been around forever...
The first appearance of the sonic screwdriver in Doctor Who:
Fury from the Deep - Part 1 first aired on 16 March 1968

And the Gary Seven episode of Star Trek aired March 29, 1968. Four of the six episodes of "Fury From the Deep" aired after that. None of them exist any more, so there's no way to know when the sonic screwdriver first appeared.

I think it was a coincidence. Think 1964, Oklahoma. Heck even Fender released a guitar in sonic blue in the 60s, which was a pale blue. References to sonic technologies were likely in written science fiction of the period, also.
