I just ordered a new book "Overcoming Obamacare" after reading an excerpt online.

Interesting book about the three different factions of conservatives and how each of them has a specific grievance against Obamacare. More than a bit wonkish.

One interesting argument concerns the portion of the law that limits premiums for the oldest Americans (54-65) to be no more than three times the premium offered to the youngest, healthiest Americans (18-32).

This has the net effect of making healthcare more expensive for young folks. The conservatives argue that there should be six-tiers, meaning premiums should be six times more expensive for the older 54-65 demographic than the youngest.

In theory, younger folks would flock to the new cheaper rates, but at the expense of older, sicker Americans who would likely need insurance more. It's a difficult choice, but Democrats opted to go with the three-tier option.

What about the part of the book that addresses the bull shit, deceptions, and lies?

Which factions, and what are the other two grievances?

  • The Reform School: use Obamacare as a tool to privatize ALL government insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • The Replace School: Repeal Obamacare and replace it with Obamacare-lite (less tax subsidies for individuals, more subsidies for businesses)
  • The Restart School: Repeal Obamacare and go back to the Founding Fathers notion that those who cannot afford health care have an obligation to die.

there you go, more welfare for Rob

Bullshit! Conservatives argue the repeal of the whole damn shit pile.

That's the third group. Concentrated piles of human filth such as yourself, continually sucking off the government healthcare teat while demanding healthcare for others be curtailed.

Vetty's lifetime of healthcare:
18 years paid for by his parents, or more likely medicaid for indigents
11 years free health care in the USMC
10+ years of Medicare/Medicaid, possibly as many as 15

That's at least 39 years of a "lifetime" of self-sufficiency.

You sound so bitter today, have you been busy reversing your stomach surgery with too much pie?

Not bitter at all, I always get a kick out of pointing out the many lies of a Vietnam-era Marine.

Not sure why you obsess about my stomach so much, I guess it must pain your cowardly Marine soul that my waistline is less than yours now.

Only when you support putting the entire country on the VA system, which is what single payer will look like.

No, it would be like putting the entire country on the Medicare/Medicaid system. The difference is that Medicare does not employ doctors, it just dispenses money.

I repeat: As a veteran, don't you see it as a problem that the VA does not provide veterans with the very best care?

It never ceases to amaze me how the chucklehead fringe right wing equates single payer with British style NHS health care, where doctors are employed by the federal government.

Willful delusion.
