I wonder when the fog of denial that is distorting the sight of western civilization is going to blow away and we begin to confront Islam for what it is? Every time a horrific act like this occurs the usual suspects trot out their mantra's of "Islam is a religion of peace" in spite of 1300 years of history to the contrary. Or "not all Muslim's are terrorists", which is true on the surface. But huge numbers of those non-terrorists are enablers of terrorism.

Every act of conciliation on the part of the apologists have been met with escalating acts of terrorism. Rather than being placated they have been emboldened even further. Yet many of us, and way too many holding the reins of power continue to try to walk the path of Chamberlain.

When is the West going to shake off this lethargy and realize that we are at war and treat it as such?

To win this war, our approach has to be more like Cheney's. We are good people. We believe in freedom. We do not want to to bad things. The terrorists captured in France should be thoroughly interrogated, intelligence harvested and acted upon, then they should be turned over to the French military and hanged. Not arrested, Not tried in court. They are enemy combatants.
Remember, one of the perpetrators was recruiting terrorists back in 2008. He should have been arrested and executed then. This is a brutal enemy and it only understands brutality as a response. I also encourage negotiation. Basically asking them to please stop their violence and hatred, and basically tell them that perpetual holy hell will rain down on them until they stop and join the community of man.

Do you always throw out international law about what can be done with enemy soldiers, and use the made up term "enemy combatant" in an effort to avoid following the moral standards that we've all come up with together?

1. Send the perpetrators for counselling and rehabilitate them back into the community. Probably not quite sufficient!

3. Instruct the Police/CRS not to capture them but to kill them. - Will turn heroes into martyrs.

4 Attack the root cause of the problem. Terrorise the terrorists in such an overwhelming way that they will be intimidated for generations. The Romans in Carthage, the Mongols in Bagdhad and Cromwell in Ireland all employed the strategy successfully.

My recommendation would be to target their oilfields first and destroy them completely - destroy their money supply.
