It seems to be a waste of time and energy.

Just not zen enough. I totally allow that negativity into my personal space. Just not zen enough.

I agree. Hate is a refined form of fear. This makes haters, cowards of some sort.

There are two schools of thought on the subject: YOUR'S and the idea that most people are improved by a little honest hate. Hate adds the right amount of tarnish to self absorbed narcissism such as most people suffer from. Hates never wasted.

I don't hate.
If I get to the point of feeling so negative about someone or something, then I simply cut the offending person or thing from my life.
Hate is a wasted emotion as far as I am concerned.

Some people are inspirational in that regard. Hate doesn't happen in a vacuum. It usually comes from love or respect betrayed.

On the other hand some people are contemptible. Contempt is not actually hate, but looks the same to an outside observer.

Anyone claims that they flat out do not hate, I look for the halo, if I don't see it I look for the icepick behind the back.

Spite and malice are human.

That's cynical. I don't know many malicious people in real life.

Hate has much more effect on the hater than the hated. I hate fruitcakes, but they'll never know.

I got over that by becoming superior in all ways. Don't hate me for it, but if you do, I understand.

Great point.

I went to anger mgmt counseling and was told:

"Anger is like pissing yourself. Everyone sees it, but only you feel it, and you just end up stinking in the end."

:rose:

^^^^^fulla shit per usual. Hate actually inspires people to act rather than suffer quietly.

You demonstrate your fears here, everyday.

You're never going to do anything about them, but I can't say you suffer quietly.

Hate, spite and malice are all like pissing in your pants and hoping the other person feels uncomfortable.

Total waste of time, effort and ultimately, your own serenity.

serenity now! lol.

I think differently. Hate is one of the main motivating forces in human affairs in my opinion.

You hate if you can't love, I think.

(...but I'm always surprised about how much I can love.....)

LOL, if only.

Life is a series of choices and what works for one person may not work for another. While I do think there is a lot of hate in the world and it certainly is a motivating factor to them, I would ask to what end is it motivating them? I would think that for the most part, it wouldn't be a good end.

Letting go of hate and resentment was a hugely liberating act. It literally felt like I shed pounds in a single moment.

Maybe someday someone or something you lose will matter enough for you to hate instead of grab your ankles and smile.
