I guess it's time to go. And I was just starting to feel comfortable here. Jesus God tho, it must be some kind of troll record.
 
There does seem to be a high troll quotient here at times. It makes an interesting (to me) plot bunny: Congenial sounding psychopath uses Internet bickering as an excuse to act out on his urges. Trolls come, but the always seem to just *poof* after a while. He, himself never seems embroiled, but makes these snap judgments then tracks them down.

What would be the standard? It would start with the most egregious, but where would that line be drawn over time?

Weren't you the one posting picture threads on themes like "brown insects" or "bowls of soup"? And now you want to leave because you have to do a bit of scrolling?

Quite often, it's the ones who post statements saying "If you dish it out, you ought to be able to take it!" that end up whining the most.
Or at least, I've noticed that :eek:

I know it gets said over and over but the ignore button is our friend. What is often missing from the advice is that the "view post" button is not.

Mostly I put people on ignore because threads they start are not going to be anything I want to bother with. Then there are the ones on ignore to remind me they aren't worth the trouble of a response.

Trolls gotta troll. Sometimes they notice you are letting things slide sometimes they don't but troll the go all the live-long day. Sometimes here and there something gets quoted. It rankles and more to the point it isn't even a clever troll, it's stupid and ripe for rebuttal. So you say the obvious the thing that shows them how contemptible they are and frankly it felt a little good. It needed said and you said it well. They respond in the pathetic troll-y way they do trolls tend to respect a little push-back. You figure, WTF, I gotta live in this sandbox, I'll try fucking civil with them.

So you find yourself in some back and forth maybe trollish maybe not but it is irritating to keep clicking view post and it fucks up the multi-quote function you have to quote them last and sometimes that means cut an paste and finally you hit the "remove from ignore" button.

And the cycle begins anew.

You know that if they lived across the street from you...you would maybe wave to keep the peace and that's it.

Plenty of people to talk to without bothering, and if they made it to iggy once, they probably oughta stay.

Our iggy list and tolerance level for what kind of trollish behavior will vary from mine or his or hers... but the bigger that list is, the happier you will be.

I say this more to myself than to you. I am feeling smug because I just noticed I can now ignore Sean. Dunno when that happened but what a glorious day. That "cunt" as he likes to say has never once had a civil word for me, and if he has had a civil word with anyone else I never noticed it. He has lots of opinions on the stupidity of nearly every other poster, but rarely elaborates his superior point of view. I have never read one of his posts and though, "Huh, I hate the cunt, but he has a point." Never. Now maybe that is because I am the ignorant cunt and all of my opinions are wrong. Don't care. Don't have to ever hear from him again.

It's liberating.
