What seemingly insignificant pleasures do you enjoy?
I was a very young man moving into my first house. My sister gifted me 4 wine glasses. Fairly inexpensive; real leaded crystal with a nice thin rim.
I was then a tee-totaler, I drank fruit juices and water from them. I also used them for parfaits.
Over the years, as one should expect, the kids broke one after another. Usually down to one or two, I would scour thrift shops for replacements. At the zenith, I was up to eight of them and some smaller ones not in my original set. Those are long gone, and the style is getting harder to source form thrift stores.
Recently I found one each of the original size and a smaller one. Pouring some water into one gave me the idea for the thread. I carefully balanced it on my net book to take a picture of it. The background was messy so I got up to move some things and spilled an entire glass on my bed.
I am now going to enjoy the seemingly insignificant pleasure of some fresh, crisp, sheets.
