Stevie Ray Vaughan 1987. Will always be my number one show of all time.
Others would be the 15 times I saw the Allman Brothers Band, Ozzy with Randy Rhoads, Black Sabbath, Queen, Pink Floyd, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Metallica, Little Feat, Joe Cocker, Kansas, The Tubes, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Joe Bonamassa, The Beat Farmers, Southern Culture On The Skids, The Cowslingers, The Rugburns, Mojo Nixon, Brian Setzer, Van Halen in 1981, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Sleepy Labeef, Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Travis Tritt, John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, The Paladins, Here Come The Mummies, and hundreds more..
I saw Billy Joel play at Wembley Arena during the Uptown Girl tour.. First time I saw him, and we went with some friends. We had tix on the main floor in the middle.. every time a song was over, we'd jump up and scream cause that's what Americans do at shows.. Part of the ways in, a guy came and got me and my buddy Cliff and led us to the stage. I was standing right below Billy's piano and we were the only ones standing. The Brits looked at us like we were crazy or something, but we didn't care.. We went wild... a couple songs later we were being crushed by the mob that had ended up following us up there.. GREAT SHOW!!
The Clash. '83ish? Santa Barbara
That's an impressive list....love Allerman Brothers Band, but, never seen them live; sounds like I've been missing out.
Likewise missed out on John Mayall and the Blues Breakers.Damn!
Woof!
I saw the Clash as well around that same time in Detroit. Small old theatre place. The Romantics sat...behind us. lol
It was the kind of show that you had to know someone to get tix and everyone who was anyone was there. And us too.
I still have the ticket stub I believe.
I have the stubs from almost all of the nearly 600 shows I have seen.
I saw the Romantics too.. what place? Remember?
The Romantics were there for the show sitting in the row behind us, not playing. It was one of the old theaters concert places down by grand circus park off Woodward. I'll have to go into my stubs.
Another story. I saw Steve Miller, J. Geils and good grief the third big band escapes me at the Pontiac Silverdome in the late seventies.
Anyhow....Romantics opened wearing their red leather suits and almost got laughed off the stage. This was a year before that brand of music got hip and they got huge.
I saw them around half a dozen times though. They used to practice in this old rental house in Hazel Park not far from where I lived for a while.

The Fillmore and Fox are there.. The Fillmore was the State Theater when I used to see shows there.. Great places to go. I've been twice since I came back home.
Typically I love the small venues... St Andrews, The Magic Stick, Majestic, Magic Bag, Lillis, The Falcon Club, Smalls, Pjs Lagerhouse, even the Gold Dollar in the middle of the cass corridor...we saw Goober and the Peas turned into Two Star Tabernacle... one of the first shows Jack White sang in.. He was AWFUL.
I saw the Clash in a small dark venue also, Arlington Theater. Must have been their thing.
Music is one of my biggest passions... I've seen over 400 bands..
Santana too, Velvet Revolver, Silvertide.. I can't remember them all.
Well that doesn't surprise me. He's over rated by half at least.
I used to go to the skin flicks at the god what was it called.
Magic Bag was an adult theatre for ever before they turned it into a bar.
Studio 6 or some shit....grrrr.
I saw tons of great shows at the Royal Oak Theatre.
Journey, April Wine, Toto (went backstage....I knew Jeff Porcaro....he's dead now) and a couple awesome Tubes shows.
Loved The Tubes
I've seen Santans 10-15 times. Every summer they were at Pine Knob (dte) for multi shows. We would go at least once every year.
Same with ZZ....never missed ZZ shows.
