Why We Lose Patience With Cops

Who can blame them. After Zimmerman, you shoot your gun you are going to be arrested. That way the cops can shrug when you get off later because you did nothing wrong.

Real men hide.

This guy fired several shots at the Mexican who killed the cop. The cops then arrested this guy for having a gun.

Felon in possession of firearm = arrest.

The LAW ENFORCEMENT officers are there to enforce the law, not decide which laws they like, or who gets a pass.

Yes, there is some officer discretion (less every year). But that usually applies to traffic infractions or misdemeanors. I can't think of a case where someone got a pass on a felony.

The cops did their duty, made the arrest and passed it up to the D.A. or City Attorney. Who has the authority to decide to prosecute or not.

Hopefully, in this case, maybe not is the better choice.

It is somewhat startling to hear of a felon taking action in support of a police officer, and I would say it shows an improvement in his citizenship.

I'll nominate him for most improved felon of the year.

Governor could restore his rights. I would say that he has shown which side he is on.

Yes, the Governor could grant clemency for the previous crime.

The law enforcement officers can't.

A really smart cop might have used the Mexican's gun to shoot the felon/hero Roach. That would be slick policing , two problems fixed at once. ;)

Both men have long criminal records and both were out on the street. Its the rule these days. Guys go to jail for rest and rehab services. I own a book that studied federal incarcerations at Washington DC. The guys go in, dry out, eat their veggies, see a dentist, lift some weights, and leave when theyre fit. The cons say their worst fears are going to new prisons theyre unfamiliar with. And they think of prison like detox.
