horrific - just been reading/hearing about it this afternoon 
the horror aside, isn't the taliban taking great risks with alienating their less extreme supporters and uniting their opposition more firmly against them? when children become the target it tends to polarise positions. this isn't the first time children have been their target, but this is on a far larger scale and will force a response. is this what they're angling for or has their sense of impugnity grown to blind them entirely?

I wouldn't try filtering acts like this through any kind of logic, it doesn't work.

GB has an issue with trolls who use a loophole allowing expressions of sexual freedom to post racist and hateful things that would normally get them banned from any other site.
Don't take it as indicative of at least 98% of the rest of the population.
How many posts on the 6 Americans killed by an American? Or on number of school shootings after Newtown. Or how many more Americans killed Americans the day of the Boston attack.
Trolls, racists and haters pick and choose there news stories worse(better?) than mainstream media.
Newspapers are not around to tell the news but to sell newspapers. Trolls are around purely to spread venal hatred and show their total ignorance.

That's not true. Here's how it works on the GB:
Muslims killing muslims is okay because we don't want to say anything bad about muslims who commit horrible crimes.
Muslims killing whites is always bad.
Whites killing muslims is okay unless it was done by Jews, then anything more than one death is genocide.
Whites killing whites is okay.

This dude was insane to begin with. If he's a suspect/defendant in an ongoing murder trial, why wasn't the police clued to his whereabouts ? Typically, people accused of murder are considered flight risks and the authorities keep tabs on them.

It is not the Muslims people we are against. It is the hate and fear spread worldwide by the so called "militant Muslim" faction we have come to abhor. Those who believe "all infidels should die". Those who preach hatred to their children and spit venom toward those who do not share their beliefs in Allah or live by the teachings in the Koran. THOSE are the Muslims we have come to hate because this is where they have delivered us with their fondness of the internet, their cowardly postings of beheadings and their jubilation over 9/11. How can anyone blame us for our bitterness? Our fear? Our rage?!
When these Muslims stop preaching hatred to their children, when they stop killing each other, when they stop believing their own idealisms are the only idealisms, then perhaps a dialogue can begin and peace will be on the horizon. Until then there will be the doctrine of "you kill us, we kill 100 of you". It's sad and it's a very sad statement to the human condition. But those are the morbid facts.
I'm reminded of the old slogan, "Let it begin with me." And perhaps my rhetoric is my statement to Muslims.: This is where we are. Our troops fight for human rights. Though you and many of our own perceive our offensive endeavors as our glutenous thirst for oil, our troops are more involved in saving lives than taking them. I know. I have a son who has been there and done that more than once, more than twice, more than three times. He, like his comrades in arms wish no ill will toward the peaceful Muslim people. But to those who wish him and his friends dead, BEWARE THEIR WRATH! All your beheadings and public displays of cruelty only serve to strengthen their resolve. The longer you test them, the more you will lose. We may lose some, but you will lose many. Please understand that. Seek peace through peaceful means. If you seek it through terrorism, death awaits you, history will forget you and your Allah and our God will not forgive you.
