A yes/no simple poll. I want to validate a statistic I read today for BoyNextDoor's The New Math thread. Thanks!

I voted no because I have to work so hard at math to get it. :(

I like maths. numbers are straight forward, they follow the rules.

I got the best score in my school on the National Math Exam. I haven't really kept up with it, though.

Abysmal. My worst subject. Numbers intimidate me and my brain switches off.

Ditto. I am enrolled back in college which starts in Jan. I took the math placement exam and I am now enrolled in double dumb remedial math for 4th graders!

Yep. I always found it effortless and could never understand people that found it hard.

Dolf, if I pee in a bowl will you lap it up?

Also acceptable I guess at math. I'm told that most students needed remedial and I was advanced so if that's not heresay I was okay I guess.

My math aptitudes are high (there are all kinds of maths...geometry, statistics, logic, etc) yet I always had inept math teachers who suppressed my performance. I have a 100th percentile aptitude in geometry tho I failed geometry in high school. Later I aced it. But math teachers can ruin you when theyre faking it..

Yes. I found math easy.
But now that I think about it, have never used 3/4 of the stuff I learned.

Oh......and whoever said 'music is math' lied.

Thank you for this post! I swear, most of my ineptness with math were the horrible teachers. I know it's a very dry subject but there has to be more than one way to teach it.

We always had unmotivated basketball coaches teaching math in high school. I could've gone "Full Vetteman" (i.e. insisting 2+2=5) and still gotten a B in math.
