New Years Plans/Resolutions?

Plans: the new man is taking me to a resort for a couple nights. The place has a nightclub with live band. I am looking forward to playing dress up with him.

Resolution: learn sign language more than basics so I can better meet the needs of clients. Take my mom on the Alaskan cruise she has been talking about. Join Alanon so I can better aid my kids in understanding and coping with addictive behaviors in people they are close to.

Plans? None.

Resolution? Yeah, the 2014 ones are around here somewhere, I wonder how I did.

Well the plan is to quit smoking. Weed and Cigs. I've smoked both for forty years and I am good at it lets say.

You will all excuse me if I seem out of sorts or extra KS-ish.

Try the vapor e-cig things. My mom managed to quit thanks to them after 50 years of smoking.

Previously she had tried everything on market...everything.

Cool on the new man!

I currently have no New Years Eve plans or resolutions.
I go to a annual New Years Day Party though.

Well that escalated quickly.
Seriously.
Let's keep the hate off my thread, please and thank you very much.

So yeah.

In my culture, we often baked "baklava" which is a honey pastry with, nuts and this type of layered stuff (like lasagna but for pastries- forget the term for it at the moment)...
Anyways as tradition goes for New Years, we usually hid coins for the kids to find.

Anyone else have traditions? (Aside from the obvious drinking)

Phyllo dough?

Also this is what I'll be doing NYE.

They worked pretty good too for what it was. I caught a few fish with one.

To go full circle....anyone have special seafood on New Years? Costco always has their seafood counter and we have gotten loaded up there for new years a few times....crab legs, lobster, prawns etc...

King Crab!

Prince William Sound or Seward?

:eek::eek::eek:

Also, you started smoking at 10?

Worked for my sis too.

I know, me too. That is my kind of Christmas.

14-15.

I'm 54.

First smoked with Jeff Overman behind his garage. Kools. His dad smelled them almost immediately and proceeded to kick his ass while I ran.

I just made a resolution: answer all condolence pms and emails.

I quit smoking in 2001, it was no big deal. I smoked for 30 years and simply stopped.

Yes I had a block in memory and couldn't think of what it was! Thank you to you, and Q for helping me figure that out :p

And may I join? That looks awesome!

Good luck! I've been trying to con my bf to quit for 6 years now, almost.
This year, I think I'm going to use sex. Seeing as how guilt tripping, plain old asking/begging, and buying the e-cigs hasn't helped.

I know he has to have the will....Its down there somewhere.

That sounds incredible, I hope you have a great time :)

As for your resolution it always makes me happy when other's reach out for help. As a child of a parent with an alcohol addiction, I only wished ALANON helped him as it helped others. All the best to you <3

Sounds like my mother, she quit smoking on her 65th birthday after smoking like a chimney since age 20.

It takes some serious willpower to just stop like that.

My New Years plans will consist of resting and being mellow.

As for resolutions, I'm not really fond of making them. I decide to make changes throughout the year and hate just making resolutions on New Years.

Well, I usually make the same resolution: To finally destroy the rotting husk of Western civilization and usher in a reign of Satanic debauchery and abominable cruelty.

But, I did that two years ago and nobody noticed. :(

So this year's plan is to get shitfaced and hopefully watch as we create our own downfall? :)

It is! Bought it just a couple miles away!

Yes! Better start making your way this direction now.

So I'll just head south, and then hopefully not get lost on that long stretch of highway. Hopefully you live somewhere warm. I'm tired of the cold ;)
