New Years Plans/Resolutions?

That is awful. Must you use that word? You are sinking lower and lower.

Look who's back. And shut up, seriously, black people can use that word however we want. You can't tell us how to use it. Stay out of it. I bet smooth used it 100x today anyhow. God, you're so hungry. Grab a burger and put me on ignore already and commit to it.

Lmao. I would love to help the homeless-but more so the children.
Maybe it's just the educator in me. But I truly feel no child under 18 should be subjected to the harsh life on the streets. (Not saying anyone older than that should either)...

Soup kitchens are fun. I already donated tons of goodies this year for them, but didn't get a chance to run one this year, so next year it will be a pleasant experience.

If you ain't divin' you ain't green.

In the big city I used to love dumpster diving in my affluent area. Took the kids, made a family event out of it. Would find the weirdest things in bulk when a store would check off the wrong boxes and way too much of something would appear. Apparently it is cheaper to throw it out than ship it back.

You expect to find post Halloween, post thanksgiving and post Christmas items. What is unexpected was the things I found "in time" and able to donate. Two full cases of cranberry sauce went to Paz de Christo a full month before thanksgiving. A gross of various children's Christmas stockings went to the Pappas House in early December.

What the fuck are you talking about? You keep bitching about how you want to be better but you're currently adding onto to the shitty state you claim you're tired of. And you said fuck the march. Niggaz like you are the ones everyone has to march for anyway.

Want me to say it again? FUCK THAT MARCH.

Well that escalated quickly.
Seriously.
Let's keep the hate off my thread, please and thank you very much.

So yeah.

In my culture, we often baked "baklava" which is a honey pastry with, nuts and this type of layered stuff (like lasagna but for pastries- forget the term for it at the moment)...
Anyways as tradition goes for New Years, we usually hid coins for the kids to find.

Anyone else have traditions? (Aside from the obvious drinking)

My mother got a lot of stupid shit she has to do before the ball drop. She has to wash everything in the house. (EVERYTHING). Even clothes that is already clean. And every since I was a child she told me to make sure I have money in my pocket when the ball drop. She says if you are broke when the ball drop you will be broke all year. And they say a male has to be the first person to walk through the door, or some shit like that.

Phyllo dough, Awesome stuff, readily available so you don't have to make your own. It is used all over the world, but I think it actually was a Greek origination. Not sure.

For NYE we do have plans with my 2 of my best friends and their spouses. All of our kids get along and they're having a blacklight party in the basement and we're playing games and drinking upstairs. This is our second year with this group and we had a blast last year.

eh that was stupid Sounds fun.

Yes!! That's it! And I'm pretty sure we invented it, cause we're cool like that ;)

My resolutions are to shed some weight, improve my financial situation and to improve my crochet skills.

My New Years plans are to go to a party for a while and then spend the rest of the night with my daughter and her gf watching movies at home.
