Not news .
Always has been .
Seriously.
Seriously.
I call him "Squeaky" and really hope it catches on. Why don't more people make fun of his voice? Ridicule is an underrated weapon in politics.
I think Cruz is a born demagogue who'd be incredibly dangerous if he ever had real power, but I doubt the country has gone quite that insane.
I used to cross paths with an attorney like him.
Absolutely brilliant. Absolute fucker.
He got appointed to the board of the Legal Services Corp. to help dismantle it.
That bit him in the ass when he was nominated for a seat on the Fifth Circuit.
Aren't he and Gomerht both annoying in courtroom demeanor? I, of course, mind it less when they are "scoring points" por la causa. But I would HATE to have them cross-examine me.
I'm feeling irrational this political season. I can't fucking stand the guy, I'd like to drive a front end loader over his thorax and watch his smooth jowls extrude from his perfectly starched collar like toothpaste; but I'm thinking about voting for him anyway, just as a "fuck you" to all the other time servers and hacks on deck. Sort of like ripping off a scab.

He's a perfect example of the kind of fringe-Republican that could (and may) win the nomination, but get trounced in the General election.
I don't know if it's possible for any Republican to be "trounced" strictly speaking in the modern era. It would take a Rob Ford-level of self-destruction to lose those 150 or so core electoral votes.
But I think a Republican leaving the friendly confines of Texas will get an unpleasant surprise regarding what the rest of the country is like. It's the reverse of the problem that Democrats like Michael Dukakis had in the past. His campaign was run by an insular Massachusetts crowd that had no idea what was going to hit them.
Cruz is the one subject where I'm actually kind of missing Eyer's perspective, because he was the one right-of-center person here who argued against his possible presidential candidacy on birther grounds. I personally don't believe he's disqualified from running, but it's definitely amusing how few of the same people who have been (falsely) obsessing on this very same point re Obama are similarly bothered by the Senator from Alberta.
Texas is a funny state. Rick Perry has been running ads on the local tv telling Maryland workers that they should relocate to Texas because it's such a business friendly state and it's all unicorn's and rainbows.
The median income in Maryland is 20% higher than it is in Texas.
"Come to Texas! You can have a pay cut and your kids can go to our shitty schools!"
Why is he easy to dislike? Because he isn't a liberal?
