The Official Author's Hangout 2014 Winter Holidays Contest Support Thread

Like any other category incest has its factions I think the stroke vs substance mix is close to 50/50 but I find the higher marks go to the stories that capture "incest romance" talk about a bizarre term

I got a "jerk off" comment today on an Aunt story, have to say its an interesting visual

Did I enjoy this story???

I'm currently on all fours, panting hard, sweat dripping off my naked body, a combination of my wetness and KY jelly running down the insides of my thighs, my John Holmes suction cup dildo still stuck to the table leg and poised for more action though minutes ago I was shamelessly twerking it to a rip roaring orgasm punctuated with my shouts of "FUCK ME BABY!" "FUCK YOUR BITCH GOOD AND HARD!".

Yeah, I enjoyed your wonderful story...a lot! ;-)

More Auntie Sinclair please. Thank you!

That is... just wow...

I've had some mildly enthusiastic feedback on a couple of stories. Nothing like this though. I'd probably wet myself if I could write something that would get this kind of response.

Gained .02 on my story today.

So do I.

But I am content with the number of votes and the attention that some of my older stories have been getting.

I'm not seeing much of that either. It was a prequel to Wicked Hot, which did well. In this one I played with how people speak- accent, sloppy speech. I knew it was a gamble. I am a little surprised that Wicked Hot has only gotten 3 votes since Wicked Cold went up. It's a stinker, I guess.

To the nit pickers.

I received this comment on my newest story that went up today in incest.

You are, without a doubt, the best mom/son writer on Lit

Title pretty much says it all, there's couple of errors here and there but I'm not stupid enough to let that ruin the fun.

I hope to see more from you.

This guy "gets it" yes there are a couple of errors, few and far between is a story without at least a couple of typos, but it doesn't ruin a story and something tells me this person gets that this is free entertainment and appreciates what he gets here.

Many of my stories are long, 6 pages is close to my norm and I have had comments that only call out I misspelled a word or misused "to and too" That's it, they read 20k and that's what they talk about.

Granted if its an error its and error, I don't deny them or argue with the reader in the comments section about it, but not one remark about the damn story?

So good to know there's a lot of people here who do take this for what it is and that's someone who wrote a story for your pleasure and for free.

I have one complaint about his comment, however.

When it comes to mom/son stories, no one on this site is better than Alwayswantedtoo. There may be a few stories out there as good as some of his work, but on a whole he has about ninety mom/son stories and they are all top notch.

Had a similar comment during the Halloween contest, was quite nice to see someone point it out.

good work!

Nice!

Incidentally; guys you're on a erotic stories site. If you're looking for high brow, intellectual stuff, you're in the wrong place.

Don't like the story, don't read it!

Thank you Jag for a great story.

It stayed with me for awhile yesterday....

I clicked on their page to see if they had written any stories. That comment is better than a lot of what I have found here for stroke stories.

Whoever they are they should give writing a shot.

A lot of times another reader will post something like that to the nitpicker and that's why I would never bother replying, the fans will take care of it for us.

I also don't argue with the readers in comments even if they piss me off because that's petty and makes it look like I can't handle a criticism.

Think that's Alwayswantedto :) :)

Are you saying that my other stories are shit??? (Oh wait. You wouldn't say that when I have my red pen in my hand.) ;)

Whoa! Put the red pen down, back away slowly...

I was referring to the sweeps as in just this one is off?

In Summer loving I lost just shy of two hundred votes on a story that had about 550.

Halloween my story had so few votes I was able to keep track all the way through and out of a total of 161 votes I lost 66....

Both times my stories went up and in Halloween significantly, but I am sorry if I refuse to believe more than a third of the votes here are bogus in some way.

They are/can be if some one or a group is trying to manipulate things like contests, the top lists, favorites, certain writers scores. This is the internet after all and Lit is a big site that everyone wants to fuck with. Welcome to reality.

But there are also glitches and inaccuracies. I think it was dark who made the mention that is some voters happen to be in the same "neighborhood" the votes may all be discounted. Or if some bogus cheerleading came from somewhere good votes are at times taken with the bad.

So to say its completely accurate is...not accurate.

I think I feel suspicious about it because no one, even Dark really knows how they determine what is/ is not a "real' vote.

But the thing for me with these is its not about winning/losing or even score.

Everyone touts the contests for the attention. The extra exposure, votes comments and attention to older stories.

It works well for older stories, but the sweeps negate that "extra attention" because so many are swept away.

The last few contest entries finish with far less votes than stories I have in the same category that I posted as "regular" stories. So I'm starting to see these as not worth it.

I did this for survivor, next year I think I'll just enter if a good bunny hits me really hard.

Oh, LC. You should know by now that I NEVER put my red pen down.

(To others: That's not true. I'm just trying to make myself sound like a badass. I am remarkably tolerant of grammar and spelling errors, as long as the story is good.)

I agree with you. The sweep only brought my score up to 4.33- a score that doesn't need bombing because it's no threat to anyone. I believe that the low scores on this one were genuine. (I believe that many low scores are genuine, but particularly on this one because it's not close to competing.) I knew I was risking low scores with the narration in this one. I don't need my shit shined.

As an established author with lots of fans, sweeps probably can negate the extra attention for you.
As a new author here though, the sweeps do take away votes, but the contest still draws way more attention than I would have otherwise received with zero name recognition, including feedback from other authors.
I assume it will lose more, but my Humor entry has 137 votes. Of the top 50 Humor stories in the past year, only 3 have more votes. It has nearly as many comments as some on that list have total votes. That would not have happened without the contest.

A longer time on the contest list does that. It also puts everyone on that list in the public eye for a longer time. That alone can account for more votes swept. With the good there is always bad.

You raise a good point. I didn't really start getting a good following until after a couple of years. Most of the reason was I spent a good part of those two years writing a long and very dark and depressing incest series that maybe twenty people were reading:rolleyes:

But after that ended in the end of 2011 I started writing in other categories for a challenge and my other incest stories were on the fun and romantic side and that's when I first hit the top 250 author list.

My early contest entries probably helped boost me at that point because it got me in front of more people-and again not with incest stories- and my numbers were great from them.

But you're right, at this point I can do fine without one and they are probably hurting me except for the looks on old stuff.

I also am at a point where with three W's they are really gunning for me. MY entry to this one was at a 4.87 after almost two hundred votes then withing thirty votes was 4.75 and I can't get over 4.76, as I said yesterday anytime I crawl up a point its sniped right back down.

So I think I am going to pick and choose when I enter next year based on if I feel really good about a story its less aggravating because the weekly sweeps are no where near as dramatic as contest sweeps.

I also don't argue with the readers in comments even if they piss me off because that's petty and makes it look like I can't handle a criticism.

To respond to comments, I made a thread on the boards for open discussion then put a link in the comments. This seemed like a better idea than clogging up the comments section with back and forth bickering.

It actually had positive results for my autobiography. Had quite a few intelligent discussions that resulted from it. Now the thread about my Halloween Contest entry that I made after the contest had finished? That was dismissed as being self promotional

Speaking of sweeps, my Halloween Contest story has seen votes sweep two days in a row. Not many were swept, but I did see a score change briefly. My question is; why are they bothering with my story when it no longer matters? Shouldn't they be more focused on the current contest, the one I'm not even in?

I'm fairly certain that once an IP is identified as malicious, it wipes out every vote from that IP in the entire database -- at least for a certain period of time.

So, most likely, they're not really sweeping your story. They're sweeping the contest, or a toplist, or some author's list and the votes on your older story are just peripheral.
