And I like your AV, it was the inspiration for all the others! I do believe you were the first to add Christmassy-ness to your original AV. :D
 
I went to a concert/ballet/performance and it moved me into tears. It was perfect in every way. It was Bright Shadow by Kimmo Pohjonen and Minna Tervamäki, a collaboration between a great musician, an accordeonist who uses computer to completely transform his instrument, and an amazing ballet dancer.

The first half starts delicate, the dancer is fragile and pretty much gets raped by the accordeon. The second half the dancer gets her revenge of sorts. It's almost cathartic, so powerful and hypnotic. I could have watched it forever.

I thought the concert I went to in August would have been the highlight of my cultural experiences this year, but nope. This one tops it.

Here's the second half, but without seeing the first one before it, it isn't nearly as powerful.
 
I like my medical practitioners here. If I go to them with a week-old upper respiratory bug, they don't dick me around for an extra week like my previous doctors in the US. I get given antibiotics and a pat on the back telling me not to work so hard and drink more water. Thank you <3

Best get to it...first step: shower.

Ok, so after about an hour I was able to throw some decorations up ...oversized as they may be.

("throw up some decorations" which is more me, was how I wrote it, but well...you know) :D

It's starting to look that way, isn't it? There are a few supplying their own. ^_^ I think it's fun. This is such a depressing time of year and I was really starting to fall into that hole. Doing this is kind of like having a ladder.

I think I already wrote about my Independence day celebration.

I have friends coming over, we eat stupidly much and then watch the president's Independence day gala on TV and play a drinking game.

Hearing about Iris's St Nikolaus day would be interesting, though. My experience of it is simply putting candy in kid's shoes.
