Walking Dead RP OOC (for Halloween)

It would make sense if Jack and Mathilda were on their own, checking one part of the close neighborhood, (church garden especially) and Aaron and someone, went looking for Aaron's hidden supplies and checking another part, and two others went to check out yet another part.

No problem, I'll change it to Jack and Mathilda. It's right at the end so it doesn't effect my post :)

I'm trying really hard not to Godmod, so I apologise if I step on toes. Getting a bit confused with all the cross-conversations. I think the writing style is already flowing which is making differentiating all that much harder. Sorry.

Okay, I'm a little lost regarding poor Shadow.

Some posts say that the dog was bit, and other posts say that he only got cut. Which is it?

My plan was that Shadow was attacked by parties unknown, because he was leading the walkers toward their camp. So someone cut his leg hoping that shadow would be overrun by the walkers. (Think Rick and the pigs at the prison.) The walkers arrived before he could finsih the job and he had to fight them off letting shadow escape. The person also escaped but lost his weapons which Nikki found.

My intention was to have this group be hostile to the main group but not a threat since we outnumber them (they would only be 3 to 5 people), and they only have stone age weapons, Spears, clubs, bows, tomahawks, all made of sticks, rocks, bones, sinew. They would share their theory on what caused the apocalypse to Nikki who they kidnapped, as they prepared her to be a human sacrifice.

Hopefully Nikki would be rescued by the rest of you. I hoped this would help build us into a team and build our confidence and trust in each other.

Unfortunatly I was away for a few days and someone took respinsibility for the act. Oh well.

Sorry, trying to find an "in" was a little hard... I should have checked first.

Perhaps we can put our heads together to write in the hostile group. Or perhaps a "baddie" can add to the story but not make contact yet?

I would say those who write the hostile group could start, but not have them have any contact with "our" group, since we are only in the morning of day two, playtime.

But if you start writing them, I have a request: could you please put a title or a name above the post, since (now) all the baddies are written by people who also write RP characters?

Ity's fine like real life I can't control other people. My idea will still work though... PM me if you want to know more.

The hostiles that we have made characters for have more advanced weaponry than what was described. The villains have military ordinance pilfered from Fort McCoy. This sounds like a smaller, less threatening hostile group...there are plenty to go around, I'm sure. Maybe the big baddie group can run into this smaller group at some point...show us what our group would be in for if caught.

Um, would any of these male baddies be forceful towards any of the females? I may consent to having Fleur in a CNC scene with a millitant hostile... ahem *blushes*

I don't know about any of the male "baddies" but I know that Valaria isn't picky as to what gender her victims are.

I'm really excited to play Valaria because she is a lot different than any of my other characters. She's truly psycho and sexual (though I'm not entirely sure that she is driven by sexual desire as much as wanting to dominate). Valaria definitely takes me out of my usual comfort zone.

If anyone is wondering why I haven't posted as Jessa.. she's just watching for zombies or hostiles, but I'm guessing that for now everything is going to be safe until the group has a day or so to rest or whatever? I do have one request though.. when a group goes further away from the campsite toward the city, can Jessa go? Also, I may introduce Ace then too.

I guess it wouldn't be such a bad idea for everyone to start putting the name of the character that they are rping as in the title section of their post.. especially those of us who have more than one character. Also, if we are using more than one location (like how some are still at the motel and some are at the church) we could also put location in the title.. that would help keep everything easy to understand maybe? Like in my post, I would put "Jessa - motel-" or something like that.

What do you all think?

Just a couple questions to put up for clarification. Since Ashley hasn't really posted in quite a while, how do we plan on handling that? Wandering off, zombie attack, etc? The same with Patrick and his daughter, since Mo won't be posting for a while?

My suggestion for Patrick and his daughter is that Patrick decides that he and his daughter should move on. If I remember correctly, Patrick wasn't certain that they should stay anyway. That way, if Mo decides to come back to the rp, the characters won't be unusable.

As far as Ashley goes, I say she is free to be dinner for a walker or can be used as an in for a villain group. I mean, it was told that if a writer disappears for a long amount of time without any reason in this thread, that character will be used to aid the plot, right? But I really hate doing that unless there's a good reason to believe that the person has lost interest in rping..

(I had to edit that because I realized how mean I sounded.. lol)

Theres gotta be tension somewhere, maybe Ashley steals our supplies and takes them to Wayne? (We find out later she's with his group)

@SimplyJessi: totally game for a lesbian encounter too. I'm not picky :)

I am already doing the name thing but I LOVE the location idea (and maybe who you're with as we're breaking up into small groups all the time). I will go back and edit mine now. :D

I think you should do what you like with your characters. It's completely up to you as to whether you kill them out or not. (P.s. I missed your edit so now I want to know how mean you were  )

@JadeKnight: Being new, I'm happy to give them a little longer, just assume they're there but talking amongst themselves? However, I like SimplyJessi's idea of Patrick and his daughter going walkabouts if they're much longer.

Also waiting for your response as I don't know how Fleur should react yet. Otherwise Fleur and Mathilda would just have conversations and cook all day :p

I like that idea, but I think it would be too early for it. There's not really enough supplies for her to really steal. We could wait until a little later.. but that would require someone to take over the character a little.. or at least for her to be written into some people's posts.

She could be used as an early "mole" where she lays low, gathering intel on the other survivors and then goes to Wayne's... or either of the same scenarios but with the lesser of the bad group (which we haven't formed yet).

I'd say that the group can come across a smaller bad guy group very soon, maybe even while some of the group are out.

I too think there shouldn't be much dangerous situations for a day or two. Let the group get to know each other, let them tell each other their backgrounds a bit.

Pat and Sarah deciding to leave the group (when all part after breakfast, maybe someone could find a little note by Sarah around lunch?) is a good idea.

Ashley could be found trapped under shelfs in a (play) day or two, and a walker. There also could be a dead walker beside her, but we'll find bite marks on her hand?

I like that idea, but I think it would be too early for it. There's not really enough supplies for her to really steal. We could wait until a little later.. but that would require someone to take over the character a little.. or at least for her to be written into some people's posts.

I am against using Ashley as an early mole. Just let the character die. How would "Wayne's group" know to sent a mole to a certain point on a highway? Why would he sent spies out at random? If Wayne knew there was a good functioning 'rich' group close he would sent a spy. But at random, just in the hope someone would stumble over a group? I don't think that is logical. It would weaken his own group, he would need to be absolute sure of the spy's loyalty. And nothing in Ashley's character sheet points at her being a spy.

A small group of baddies yes, but only after two play days have passed. Which might take some time.

Speaking of the bad guys, are we creating the group? Since they will be mostly throw away characters, do they need as much detail as the other group?

I created my small group of adversaries. Here are the characters I envision for this group

War Chief Fights Like Bear
Older Native American. Claims to have killed many white men and has never been caught by Tribal police or white police. Served in WWII as a young Man.

Shaman Dancing Buffalo
Helped lead the Ghost Dance that Natives believe lead to the Zombies. Is a true believer and follower of the Tribal leaders who tell their followers that no pure blooded Native American will become a walker. Only those who are not pure (Not 100% Native) This explains why some do turn.
War Party (2 or 3 braves) Others can create these characters.

A couple things I'd like to weigh in on. First off, going to speak about realism. Keep in mind, it has been almost a year since the initial outbreak. Supplies would be very hard to come by...even if you initially had supplies when it all started, your reserves need to be restored. We definitely would not have been the first group to have been through this town over the past year...and also have to take into account Aaron living here all winter.

That said, not trying to nitpick, but the amount of supplies found at the police station doesn't seem realistic to me, as the first places anyone would go when searching for supplies during crisis, are places where food and water are available, and anywhere there are weapons. After a year, doubt anything would have been there...police station would more than likely already been ransacked months before.

Still, what is written is fine...can still work with it, but problem is, think we're starting to get a bit "Month Hall" with the amount of supplies we have. I was guilty of this, too with the duffel bag full of junk food in the motel room, finding something that should have been scavenged long before. It wasn't realistic, and someone pointed it out to me. I was glad they did..it was glaringly unrealistic.

Part of a story in a zombie apocalypse is not just fighting to survive against walkers or other groups...we want our characters to struggle somewhat with the daily needs of food and drink as well. That is more than likely going to happen sooner rather than later...the more we have, the more Wayne's group will want to take from us. The more loaded down with supplies, the slower a group moves...and that would mean lightening our load in order to outrun hostile groups that we can't defeat directly. Also, gas would be an issue for vehicles...bigger the vehicle, the more fuel it uses. The more vehicles we have, the less miles we can travel before needing more gas. If it tows a load, fuel use increases.

Wayne's group is bigger, better armed, and more ruthless and violent than our group. I imagine them harrying our group, chasing us, ready to kill us for our supplies. Only defense we have is our wits, and a smaller, more mobile group. This is the exact same advantage this new group of Native American hostiles are going to have over us as well. Sneak in, hit hard, run...ambush strategy. Disable vehicles. Wear opponents down, make them jump at every shadow...uneasy at all times. Will be a learning experience that our group can learn from to use against larger, stronger groups. Good roleplay opportunity.

By the way, Ldy Sea...characters you made remind me of a RP game I used to play called DeadLands. Similar story...the Native American tribes cast a curse which unleashed the dead upon the land, as well as monsters and magic. Only setting was in the Old West, rather than the Walking Dead setting. Was a pretty cool concept...melding genres.
