It's basically a piece of jewellry. I have a smart phone for the time and date and couldn't read my watch if I wanted to. I just realized how dumb that is.

Mine is simple...a Timex. It is not expansive or flashy but it does the job. My main requirements is that it is water resistant as it usually ends up the the lake with me a couple times a year.

What's wrong with having a nice watch to wear more as jewelry than a time piece? I don't wear gold bracelets or anything of the sort, and my watch looks good and is very stylish.

They make some really nice, shiny brass sextants. You could buy one of those and hang it from a necklace as a pendant.

Makes as much sense and is just as useful.

I don't wanna wear a necklace. So that's out..lol

To me.. it's just a nice piece of jewelry. It doesn't have to be any more useful than that... plus it's solar and I don't have to wind it or mess with it. I've had it in a cabinet for a month at a time, took it out and it worked fine. It was totally worth it for me..
