"If you don't think what happened in Ferguson can happen here, think again."
- Carol Rose

"In many ways, it already has."

The paramilitary sickness has infected Boston.
Occupy Boston was policed by cooler heads.
Boston is an educational center- students matter.
The death of a student, who was a bystander,
caused the police to act with more tact and care.
She was killed by police who were horsing around
with new non-lethal weapons. She spoiled their good time
pushing students around, by getting killed with their toy.

But, that was a long time, ago. The Marathon bombing
changed everything. Suddenly, it was OK to aim rifles
at people in their homes. People, who were looking out
of their windows, watching The War on Terrorism happen
on their lawns.

Now, the police who are meant to protect our neighborhoods
are playing war games. All the police stations want new
war toys. The police who loved Dick Nixon, now can
help their weapon producing, corporate partners to prosper.
The government is giving the police money, to buy bigger weapons.
Better weapons, more advanced weapons. Big, fat, delicious profits
for all the paramilitary industry. More money to contribute to the
Right Wing agenda. Which unions, are the only unions that are allowed
approval by the Right Wing ?

Police unions and firefighting unions.

Are they going to let all those new weapons rust in storage ?
Is all that new training, going to waste ?

Lessons Of Ferguson For Massachusetts

"...consider the plight of tens of thousands of black Bostonians who are stopped,
interrogated, frisked and searched by Boston Police Officers simply because
of their race. "

"Despite their stories — and a recent ACLU-issued report documenting racial bias
in stop-and-frisk practices — the Boston Police Department has yet to announce
a single policy change to address the problem."

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., wrote in his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,”
we all have an equal obligation to stand up to racial injustice:

Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.

I don't care about poor ol blackie, there's no time for caring when Mister B is trying to pull me outta the window of my po-leeeece car.

“If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it.”

― Mark Twain

If you don't think it could happen where you live, you're wrong.

If you don't think you can make a change, you're also wrong.

There are ways of peacefully approaching such a harsh reality, and there are people who are willing and able to do so, and they do.

There are also those who believe the ends justify the means, and will use more covert and perhaps less legal ways to approach the reality of a militarized police force and a mentality among said forces that it's them vs. the civilian population.

In the end, one will have to choose sides, or... one will be forced to choose.

I know where I stand and what I'm willing to do for the cause.

Yes. And it didn't really matter.

It didn't matter? The Bush administration started a war (the longest in American history) and it doesn't matter?

The Bush administration put the Patriot Act into law and it doesn't matter?

G.W. Bush will go down in history as one of the worst presidents in American history, but it doesn't matter.

Ignorance is bliss, and if that helps you get out of bed, carry on.

I just don't understand how you, as a woman (supposedly) can say that policies from the last decade haven't affected me (and also, you, if, of course, you have a vagina)

Do you know how many times congress has tried to redefine rape and regulate women's bodies and personal rights? More than 100 times, elected officials have tried to change the laws regarding womens' rights to choose.

You don't think economic policies affect you, me, and every other person who lives in this country?

Fucking stupid.

Have you ever been denied an abortion?

Have you ever been denied an abortion?

Just because I, personally, have never been put into that situation, doesn't invalidate the facts.

Women who have been raped, and then denied an abortion because their rape wasn't "valid" in the eyes of ass-backwards states, now have to fight for parental rights with their own rapists.

Think about that for a second, you cold-hearted, ignorant bitch. In 31 states... 31 fucking states, it is legal for rapists to fight for custody of the child they FORCED into their victims.

Here's food for thought, next time you get a mammogram, or refill your birth control, or buy plan B, think of all the women who are denied those things because they live in states that teach abstinence rather than REAL sex education. Or don't, because you probably won't, because you're selfish and narrow-minded and exactly the type of women policy makers want to vote, "out of habit"

Birth control, mammograms, and abortions are available in all 50 states. They may not be free.

I'm not saying they need to be free, but way to try to twist my words.

When women's health care providers are being shut down in every state, to a point where women have to travel hundreds of miles to be taken care of, it's a travesty. This is a first world country, and yet policy makers are making it nearly impossible for women to go to these clinics because 3% of the services provided in said health care providers are abortions.

God save the fetuses and fuck everyone else.

Government isn't shutting them down. Not enough paying customers is.
