So there is a search post is the How To FAQ.

It can be found here:
http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=358426#5

It's quite complete, but not easily visible. Granted, to some of us it is obvious, but to lurkers and newbie persons, this stuff is perfect and should be shoved in their face. :D

I personally think this should be pulled out of the FAQ and be made a sticky at the top of every forum, but that's just me and I always over do it.

What do you think would be the best way on how to do it?

Not to be picky...but...the first thing I read in the thread is untrue.

Can you use the same attachment more than once? NO.
However, you can: (a)rename and resave the file and attach it to a new post, or (b)create an "index" by posting a link to the attachment. An index is what you see in many AmPics threads that have the links to many attached pics in the first post.
To post the link to the attachment/create an index of attached images in a single post:
1) Go to the original post (the one that contains the attachment(s) you want)
2) Click on the attachment (it's helpful to open this in a new tab or window)
3) When it opens, copy the URL from the address bar
4) Now go to your second post (the one you want the link to the attachment in, or the attachment copied to)
5) Press the icon at the top of the text box
6) Write in the text you want, and press OK
7) Insert/Paste the URL to the attachment that you just copied, and click OK again.

Your code should look like (without the asterisks):
[*URL=http*://www.literotica.com:81/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=539251]Here's Your Attachment from Your Other Post[/URL*]

The result: Here's Your Attachment from Your Other Post

The answer to that question is YES. You can use an attachment as many times as you want...they are your attachments and they are not tied to particular forum, thread or post.

Instead of using the "link" icon, use the "image" icon and the picture will display in the post you place it. I know back in 2005 the faq was probably correct as the image could not be reference directly as Lit didn't allow hot linking of images stored on their serves, but that has changed, so this FAQ should be changed.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread...yes I did. :p

Not a hijack :D ...but kind of my point. It's buried in there with a ton of other stuff.

Bump cause of the FAQ answerable How To questions.

...back to page 1.

If you're the kind of person to read stickies in the first place, then this is a non issue.

If you're the type of person who can't be arsed to spend a few minutes looking, and wants it spoon fed instead? I have no sympathy.

*shrug*

I'm just making the search easier to find, doesn't matter if it's actually a sticky.

Well, the problem is our dear friend Quoll (the FAQ thread administrator) passed away, so the thread can't be reorganized as it currently sits. :(

I can check to see if a mod or admin can somehow give me access to that first post so the FAQ can be edited effectively. I simply don't have the time these days to re-author the whole thread, but i could make updates and changes here and there.

Hi search post maker :) /me *waves*

It's no sweat, until this thread gets more views or votes, I don't think anyone minds.

..either way.
