Here's my prediction: While Boner and the rest of the GOP whine and scratch their heads for what to do the American People will defeat Obama with passive opposition like they did Prohibition in the 30s.

As for you prediction, what it really took to repeal Prohibition was passive opposition plus an amendment to the Constitution. Are you holding out for an amendment now? Any in particular?

Your first paragraph, though, holds more than a grain of truth. The President doesn't look any more ready to play by the rules than he did before the election. Of course, repeated losses in elections didn't teach the Republicans much either. It seems the state of politics these days.

If Obama is right Hillary or Warren will be President soon, if he's wrong 2016 wont be any fun for Democrats.

How will this President not end up most lame of all lame-duck end-of-term Presidents? His supporters have already worn out their chant "But, but they are OBSTRUCTING him MOM!!!!" by blaming his failings on Republicans including for the time when he had control of both chambers.

History doesn't really care "who gets the credit" as Reagen famously did not worry about. No one says the Reagen recovery would have been even stronger without Tip O'Neil's foot dragging (though it would have been.) No one seems to remember Clinton was overpowered by the Republican congress who helped turn around the budget and welfare programs over his vociferous objections. Now he can't brag about "his successes" enough.

Obama is fundamentally incapable of doing the smart thing. It isn't that he is an ideologue, although he is. It is that he is an arrogant, stubborn child that petulantly insists on being "right" and getting his way on everything.

There is this thing called political realities and one's legacy to consider. I actually can see him taking your idea of demanding his way or the highway while barricaded behind a hollow-core door with SWAT poised with the battering ram.

Are you under the impression that every piece of legislation has always been passed by the President of the period's party, or with a veto-proof majority?

Are you unaware that the reason that Harry Reid allowed nothing to be voted on was because, if put to a vote, some Democrats, in some states, have constituencies that would eviscerate them for voting against -some- Republican bills?

All the Republicans plus a a few Democrats equals filibuster proof. All the Republicans plus a handful more Democrats equals Veto over-ride.

All the Republicans plus some prominent, vocal Democrats means a veto is political legacy suicide.

You are as politically tone-deaf as Obama. Keep rooting for your idea of "The President of No." Be nice to see Hillary's chances ruined.

That's the hope, that Obama will either sign or veto bills beneficial to Americans. With the proper messaging it could be very difficult for Obama to veto everything the Republicans send to him without damaging the Party Brand, and without whipping the numbers of renegade democrat senators into an impeachable majority. I believe five Democrat Senators just passed gas on his executive action on immigration. As soon as Obama is seen as the obstructionist, things will get bad for his party's brand.

I don't see the Republicans as willing to craft a bill amenable to the President (quite the opposite, in fact), and I seriously doubt he will "hurt the Democratic brand" with a veto pen. You may recall the last two years of Clinton's second administration we had something similar, and people blamed Congress for farting around, despite the best efforts of Fox News to blame President Clinton.

Your grasp of legislative history remarkably shallow. Bill Clinton today brags about Republican legislation that he signed after swearing he would veto it no matter what.

They are under no obligation to craft a bill "amenable to the President." They are under obligation to craft bills "amenable to actual voters that put them in office."

Obama made the election about "his policies" and the referendum returned was "no thanks!"

Keep pretending that because a bunch of less than typical voters showed up to cast a vote for "the historic guy" twice that it is a mandate for anything that comes from his mouth. None of those voters will turn out for Hilary. It's been two years and many failures later since anyone voted for his policies and a couple of weeks since his policies were soundly rejected.
