So after a quick search I came across two threads with the word 'candy' in the title that were actually about candy and not using the word as a metaphor.

One was Halloween stuff:

...and the other was leftover Halloween stuff:

So how about a thread for your favorite nom-nom-yum-yum-once-in-a-while snacktime candy?

My all time hit list win:

'The Rootbeer Barrel'

It's hard candy and it tastes like root beer. What's not to like?

(also, brush your teeth)

I am a fan of the rootbeer barrels.

I like smarties too though, because you are what you eat.

Best homemade candy are pralines. My dad used to make them every Christmas as a nod to our time in Lou's zee anna.

Candy makes my stomach hurt. But I have recently indulged on Milk Duds.

praw-leens with puh-kawns are delicious!

but my favorite candies are meringues, preferably orange flavor.

Yup. Not "Pray-leans" and not "Pea Cans"

38 miles south they grow Pecans. There is a family with a son in a wheelchair that bought a shelling machine so he could have a job to do as a teenager to earn his own money, so the pecans don't have to be shipped out of the area fro processing anymore. I should go get some.

Bassett's jelly babies. I also like non parels, dark mozarts and dark cadbury mini eggs.
Gumbilees wine gums are cool too. They do not have any wine in them, they were originally made for the temperance movement to help people switch from alcohol to sweets. ;)

I like those banana flavored, bright orange, marshmallow peanuts. Hard to find good ones these days.

Ditto on the RBB. Which are increasingly hard to find in SoCal.
