LADIES & GENTLEMEN: What kind of condiments do you prefer?

I tend to use Mayo as my canvas. For Onion rings & French fries I add Texas Pete Hot sauce & mix it up then dip.

Sandwiches mayo & mustard and some spices

I rarely use Ketchup.

Mustard only Hot dogs

Ranch is to me what chocolate is to most women.

A co-worker in my youth liked mayo on her fries. It is good, I LOVE it on artichoke leaves so I don't know why I never do it now.

I had another coworker years later that down in the company cafeteria he would make a pile of ketchup and a pile of mayo. HE would then drag his breakfast sausage through it making a red/white strip along it. He was from Ireland but said it was his thing not an Irish thing.

I JUST bought a vintage vinegar shaker just like one my mom stole from a Canadian drive-in 50 years ago. I like it on fries and potato chips.

I make my own condiments a lot. I have made gooseberry chutney.

I make my own barbecue sauce. I have recently mastered my own terryaki and an orange glaze for chicken I am not a huge fan of ranch but I have made my own in the past.

In a lot of my sauces I use Louisiana or buffalo style hot sauces depending on what I have on hand.

I make a variety of Mexican Salsas. From rojo, to chunky salsa, to pico de gallo, to salsa verde made from tomatillos and jalepenos.

I make sweet and sour sauces, Until I no longer had toddlers underfoot I make a lot of these from a baby food base.

I've made my own blueberry sauce, and caramel sauces.

My signature sauce that I have seen no one else make is based on a recipe for thai hot and sticky drumsticks. It is sweet. savory and hot. I make it from honey, sirachi chili sauce, a very good soy sauce. Sometimes I lean it with vinegar. My kids like it on everything.

If I only get to take one preprepared condiment to a desert island?

Mustard, please. Just plain, cheap yellow mustard.

I live for condiments.

In approximate passionate order:

Poppyseed dressing on toss salads.
Mayo on cold cut sandwiches (ham, pastrami, corn beef, roast beef, turkey and BLTs).
Sweet mustard and sweet relish on hot dogs and brats.
Butter or margarine only on hot vegetables and mashed or baked potatoes.
Ketchup on burgers and fries, but I'm not a big fan of fries.

Condiments I never touch:

Horseradish
Sour cream

Anything chilli.
At any time, there are at least 5 varieties of chilli sauce in my pantry and several different types of fresh chilli in my fridge.

Put the seed in the guac and it slows down browsing considerably, or just eat it! ;)

It really has a lot to do with what is being eaten. Burgers: ketchup, mayo and pickles. Hot dogs: mustard and relish. Most sandwiches: Mayo, but Pastrami needs mustard. Fries: Ketchup, but back in college brown gravy. Thai sweet chili sauce is great on many, many things.

Heinz Ketchup only. Don't bring that Hunt's bullshit around here.

Various mustards. Just plain yellow on a ham sandwich, dijon on microwave burritos, and honey mustard for dipping.

Frank's Red Hot and Tobasco for other things like scrambled eggs and hash browns.

Heinz 57 is a good one to keep around, and so is A-1.

Miracle Whip for sandwiches.

All the rest is fine but ^that? ~shudder~

I will barely admit that A1 does make me wax nostalgic for a little tico Costa Rican that used to slather that on the steaks she cooked me, but no one else should ruin a steak like that.

Miracle Whip is not just not mayo, it is also not good. Cloying.

Tons of black pepper, HP sauce, Colman's mustard, Worcester sauce, balsamic vinegar, mint sauce are my faves. And ketchup on chips and on a fry up.
