It was only after I visited Europe that I finally understood the obsession with weather. Damn thing changes on you so quick, it can ruin the most perfectly laid out plans in an instant.

Yep, definitely. Katabatic winds, for example, can be a killer.
In England, of course, since we are cut off from mainland Europe, high latitude but in the path of the Gulfstream, the weather is absolutely all over the place. I've known snow, lightning and bright sunshine at literally the same time.
