Ominous prediction indeed.

SeanRenard @ post 414, I choose to buy this part for a dollar, because it's close to genious, but only if taken out of context of the rest of that post:
What is a country without borders? That's like asking what's a house without locks.

I know what crap sounds like...and I also know what a lack of musical ability is too. That kid doesn't play instruments, doesn't write his own music, can't sing.

I've seen over 400 bands.. all of whom are better than that POS.

The guy in the link I posted....well, that speaks for itself. lol

You know huh... So you didn't read the lyrics because you know how music sounds?

Know: verb:
1. "be aware of through observation, inquiry, or information."

Listen dummy, ICP are from Detroit... they've been sucking around here for over 20 years. Even if they wrote the most beautifully lyrical songs, the manner in which they play them cancels that out completely.

I don't think any less of you because you like them..

Like you did to me earlier?

btw...it's you're. Shoulda posted the merriam webster link for that and gotten it right.

Okay, we're not on the same page here.
I simply asked you as to whether you thought the minimum wage was a livable wage, because your little non-sequiture that a minimum wage was also a reservation wage was a tad confusing (which I suspect was your ultimate intent, but I digress).

When I pressed you on the issue, you went non-sequitur on us again, linking to your "this I believe" herp-a-derp about manipulative behavior.

I'll ask you a third and final time: Do you think the minimum wage as it stands today is designed to be a "liveable" wage? I don't want to hear your beliefs about manipulative behavior, the ICP, the illuminati or chemtrails.

I look forward to a response that actually answers the question put to you.

The trick is to stop trying:

This article = metaphor:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/s...dangerous-planet-ecologist-warns-9851146.html

Humans are turning the world into a “lonely planet” depleted of its rich biodiversity, and there could soon come a point when the mass extinction of species turns into an irreversible spiral of decline, according to a leading ecologist.

Professor Ed Wilson, an authority on biodiversity at Harvard University, said that the extinction rate of species is running at between 100 and 1,000 times higher than in pre-human times and that we are on course to lose half of all animals and plants by the end of the century.

“We’re making a lonely planet. More than that, if we continue to destroy the biosphere it becomes a very dangerous planet,” professor Wilson told i on a recent visit to Britain.

“If you wiped out enough species, all of those say in South America, then that may be a tipping point where you get enough changes globally to begin a downward spiral,” professor Wilson said.

“A tipping point will come, but we don’t know when. However, the important thing is that it will come, and maybe sooner than we thought if we continue to destroy the natural habitat, and in particular the species,” he said.

“You can rehabilitate a damaged habitat to some extent, but you can’t do that if you have gotten rid of species. We would lose them forever, and I think that would be a tipping point in human existence,” he added.

I have not, nor would not claim to be the smartest person in the room. I also take myself out of equations. I am also not the 'better than you' type. Assume some more, it seems to fit your persona.

Maybe you should try seeing something for what it is instead of as what you want it to be?

You did that query thing of ascribing.. and speaking for me. I never said you claimed to be smarter or better than anyone.

You started with me..just remember that. You weren't even on my radar.

What was the genesis of the stupidity behind this concept of "living wage?"

By definition "minimum" wage is an entry level wage. As in "I would rather pay you nothing, or maybe do without your position than pay you."

Why would the lowest scale job in all of society pay enough to "earn a living." These are jobs designed to give one experience at the concept of getting out of bed, being on time, and following directions.

Technically you should have to pay for the training involved.

If everyone in society could simply roll off the turnip truck and do something, anything, no matter how marginally it contributes to a business and survive, what would ever be the point of acquiring skills, training and/or education?

If you cannot contribute enough on a minimum wage job to add enough value to get a raise, ever, without the government putting a metaphorical gun to the head of your employer you should not be encouraged to think of yourself as appropriate breeding material. You should not be encouraged to get an apt, a girlfriend and for sure not a kid.

Just pointing out the vast degree of your mastery of the obvious.

My point is, he says a lot of things that go without saying, but because of the intellectual limitations of indoctrination, he thinks they're profound.

So it's just you being mean. Because in the context, Payday was trying to make the verbiage I chose a huge deal. I said "Conservatives would protect the US economy by enforcing border laws." You're a conservative. Are you going to say "Sean that is a correct assessment of my stance. Or are you going to drill in that your goal isn't actualy about the US economy it's about the US workforce and if I can't understand that I've proven what a beknighted dummy I am?

I'll ask you a third and final time: Do you think the minimum wage as it stands today is designed to be a "liveable" wage?

I already did, but yes, it was and could be, and still is if you rack up enough hours, but the increased tax burden and cost of living have made it more difficult. Increasing the minimum wage to fix this only changes the inflation and cost of living variables.

When I pressed you on the issue, you went non-sequitur on us again, linking to your "this I believe" herp-a-derp about manipulative behavior.

Exactly? How could something like that possibly relate to you, right?

I don't want to hear your beliefs about manipulative behavior, the ICP, the illuminati or chemtrails.

I really think you don't know what you're looking at.

Given your propensity to confuse fact with opinion, I think what Sean does is defensible.

For example
Vetteman: If you take out black votes, hispanic votes and single women votes, then Romney is president! Ha!
Me: But you can't simply exclude them, and President Obama was re-elected President.
Vetteman: Everybody knows that! I win! I win! I win!

What do you do for a living again?

Now we're getting somewhere! Third time's the charm!

Interesting qualification you put on your position, "if you rack up enough hours"!
What, in your mind, should be the logical maximum that a person should work in a week? I'd say the 40-hour workweek, which has been the American standard for generations, should suffice and that a minimum wage should cover basic needs within that time frame. I'm curious as to your position on what should constitute the expected number of hours. Give a number if you can, and qualify it afterwards.

I notice you bring up the bogeyman of inflation again, which is quite common amongst conservatives. We have not had meaningful inflationary pressure in America for well over a generation, so is inflation still the convenient demon it used to be?

I recognize obfuscation when I see it.

As many as it takes. I pulled a few 70+ hour weeks back in the day to make ends meet.

This----^ is not true, there was one year where it averaged out the same for two years, 2011/2012 inflation calculation, otherwise, it has only ever increased. Also, inflation always matters, you cannot pretend that it doesn't matter.

Obviously, you don't.
