Yikes, Zumi.

They have a very valid point. I am not proud of my somewhat visceral reaction to the image.

Food for thought.

I grew up in a household with frank, clinical names for all things medical. Yet, my dad when (I presume) described his Mom's apparent midlife crisis and attributing the angst to what he could have called menopause (A nice, neutral, clean term) he said something like "woman troubles." WTF?

Sanitary pads were consigned to be hidden away shamefully in the back of the damp under cabinet in the bathroom. In hindsight, if I were a girl, especially in the uber OCD, anti-microbial environment in which we were raised, I would have insisted the be kept in a nice, dry brightly lit location where we kept medical supplies sterile.

I have been waking up and going to sleep horny for the last couple of days.

I am gonna guess its about time for my 2 month long PMS symptom hatefest.

Sometimes I wish they would've taken the ovaries when they removed the uterus.

The upside is that my bewbs will be bigger for a bit.

One man puts the Ebola crisis into perspective for paranoid Americans who have no idea what Africa looks like

There have been ridiculous incidences of Ebola racism in recent weeks. These include a New Jersey elementary school that asked two students from Rwanda to stay at home and hundreds of parents in Mississippi who pulled their kids out of school because the principal attended his brother’s funeral in Zambia. These examples are despite the fact that both countries are thousands of miles away from West Africa and have not reported a single case of Ebola.

"Ignorance & misinformation is a big problem with Ebola.”

I have met too many people who think that Africa is a country. I assume they don't know how to do Google.

We've re-purposed the temporary blurt thread into a fart thread.
It's good to recycle.
Although I don't think I'd want to recycle a fart.

Someone tell pointless.

This must be an American thing.
Googling to learn that Africa is a continent?

Oh yeah.

A majority of Americans in general are horribly ignorant about Africa (and Africans) on many, many levels. It's not an accident that it's this way, either.

Nearly every American who is ignorant about Africa is also ignorant about Europe (that country sucks), Scandinavia (somewhere up there), Asia (isn't that Japan?) and without a label they can't properly mark the state names on a map.

*Australia and South America intentionally ignored in this post because they don't count except for Argentina where they've got oil and sometimes Brazil when the World Cup is there.

** Australia never counts and I'd bet that not 1 in 10 Americans could tell you where New Zealand is without reference.

In all fairness, a majority of Africans are probably horribly ignorant about America as well.
