I'm no fan of the Royal Family, but at least one good thing Kate has done is bring pantyhose back in style. I'm sorry, but the bare leg look is horrendous. Nylons give the legs a much more finished, polished look to them. I don't care how good your skin is, your legs will look better with hose on. Yes, they are uncomfortable, but sometimes you have to suffer a bit to look presentable. They are 100 x more comfortable than high heels, yet ladies still toddle around in those and they look ridiculous in bare legs.

Personally, I wear long skirts, like literally to the ankle, and wear cowboy boots with them, so I don't need pantyhose under them, I wear the most unfashionable knee highs. No one can see them since my skirts are so long, but I dislike socks, so they work quite well for my purposes. If I was however wearing shorter skirts, I certainly wouldn't be going with bare legs. Tacky.
