How To Edit A Thread Title?

I have a thread that I started with "(Open)" in the title. I'd like to change that to "(Closed)". How do I do that?

I tried editing the title by editing the first post, and although the Title subsection of that list reads "(Closed)", it still shows as "(Open)" in the forum proper.

This has resulted in a couple of people posting in a private thread - annoying for us and no doubt wasted time and energy for the unexpected guests.

You can't.

And there are no such things as private threads. All threads are (open) for everyone to post in.

Yep. All you can do is edit your original post in the thread to read closed and ignore whoever else posts in it. Welcome to the internet.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty certain mods or admin can do it, (I used to be able to on a vBulletin forum when I was an admin), but had hoped an OP might have similar controls of the thread they started.

No biggie! :)

I think you might be right about the mods being able to change titles. I would imagine you'd need a good reason for requesting it... I mean, they are volunteers, I believe.

There is an exception. If you get to the thread title before anyone else replies, you can change it. Too late for that though.

Yes, Mods and Admins can change the titles if you can convince them it needs to be changed.

Other vBulletin forums do allow users to make such changes and/or delete posts but Literotica turned those options off because of bad behavior by past members.
