I did.

So many people were a "wearing me out about it" I caved and got one .

The first in maybe twelve years?

H1N1 Might just kill you or leave you wishing you were dead.

Are you getting one?

Pass.

I just barricade myself in the house and avoid human contact.

It's not great for a sex life, but it keeps the chances of getting Ebola way down.

I will as soon as I can find one I can have. There is a shortage of no preservative non egg vaccine around here.

I had mine in April. After 10 yrs of not getting the shot, my [then] gp convinced me to have one as I'd had pleurisy the year before so now I'm apparently more susceptible.
I have caught EVERY single fucking viral illness going around since I had that damn shot
Never again.

Every time I get a flu shot I end up sick. Not because of the shot, but because to get it you have to wade through a ton of people with the flu.

You just moved. You probably were exposed to a whole new bunch of bugs.

My hospital doesn't have them in yet, but I always get mine. It comes in a nasal spray you can get now, but the side effects can be more severe, since the virus is less weakened than in the shot.

Seems like Damned if you do maybe dead or disabled if you don't.

I had mine several weeks ago, as I do every year.

They don't stop me getting colds, but I haven't had proper flu since I started getting flu jabs.

I have had 'real' flu, not the heavy colds that some people confuse with flu. I don't want it again.

i never get a flu shot, that shits for the birds

I don't waste my time with them. There are just too many strains out there and a flu shot will only help protect you from a handful of them. Instead, I take vitamin supplements, especially vitamin C. Most people don't get nearly enough of it. I rarely get sick and when I do, it's over in a couple days.

Never have, won't again this year.

Now that I'm posting this, I'll probably get the flu.

btw, why is "flu shot" in parens, in the thread title? something i should know about.?

I use to get this upper respiratory crap every year until I got the flu shot, haven't had it since. Got mine.

Influenza vaccination. I get mine every year, free of charge from my employers.

A good friend gets his shot every year, but didn't get his yet this season. He just had 4-5 bad days with the flu.

I get mine every year. Why wouldn't everyone?

Nope. I can't remember the last time I had the flu. Besides, everyone around me that has the shot ends up getting ill, so I'm not convinced of the usefulness.

I guess that there might be a point to healthcare workers, teachers and people who have other health issues to have the shot, but I'm young and otherwise healthy and prefer to not put my money needlessly into the pockets of the pharmaceutical industry.

I always immunize - not necessarily for myself, because I have the immune system of a baus, but because herd immunity protects everyone. The fewer possible vectors of contagion, the slower the spread.
