I think the worst one was a flat covered in shit. I mean everywhere. There was even a plate of it in the microwave. The cleaning company we hire refused to go in.

We had to go to one where an old woman had died. In a flat with a dozen cats that hadn't been fed. For three months.

Mental health issues....probably definitely. I can't help but look at hoarders as just exceptionally fucking lazy, to the point where they're harming themselves, though.

Yeah.... who needs that many sunglasses or gravy packs?

Lazy fucks.

A plate of shit. Maybe they thought they were becoming flies themselves.

At what point do you just burn the place to the ground?

:D Again, that's not me hoarding. Well, maybe the sunglasses but not the gravy! That's sending a man to the grocery store every week who can't remember that he's already bought those things faster than I've been using them. At least I keep that shit organized. Eventually.

Jesus. Why didn't anyone warn me about the eye poker in that thread? Fuck.

They'd need to pry them from my cold, dead hands.

if you burned them, your hands needn't be cold... *runs*

oh! btw, kudos on the facebook announcement :D not seen it but heard about it on here

It doesn't count as hoarding if it's books.

I would have to disagree. I once reached the level of 'hoarding' before I scaled back with library donations, sales to used book stores and a jumble sale.

When all that remains of the flat is an aisle between stacks, you have reached the point of book hoarder. I moved somewhere between 3500 and 3700 books out.

(and yes, I still weep)

You cold, callous bitch.

I'm not feeling productive but I feel like I should be feeling productive.
