Why is my story spending so much time in pending approval?

I submitted a story last Sunday and it still hasn't been approved. The longest I've seen is three days, and I put an 18 year old disclaimer on top, which sped up the process in the past. But this is taking almost an entire week. Why am is it stuck in limbo for so long?

Have you clicked on pending at all? That will set it back.

But if not then I would PM Laurel (look for her name at the top threads and click on it and send her a message) maybe it somehow got lost in the shuffle somewhere.

"dammit Laurel Your Free Site Isn't Doing What I Want Fast Enough!!1!!!"
:D

I having the same issue with a new chapter on my new series. I've PM'd Laurel twice and no response.

No but you're don't know what you are talking about.

I posted two stories outside the last contest and guess what. Two days.

Or you don't understand what I do and don't know:

Whenever I post a story as a doc file 5-7 days.

Talk about dynos and mufflers again. That was fun.

Maybe because its a doc file. Use copy paste and it goes much faster.

Yup, and during contest time a week ain't so bad.

Not for months and months, no. All of mine to the general file have cleared in two days despite the contests since the spring. When was the last time you submitted a story?

Ah, so, you haven't submitted a story since February--so you have no current knowledge on this.

Feb 2014.

I've submitted all my stories in .doc, they've always been around 7 days. The Laurel(s) could take a month+ to approve my stories, I wouldn't mind because it's a free use site.

That's all I'm saying. I thought that was obvious.

No one asked the OP what format he submitted.

Nope. And they didn't ask if he checked to see if the story had been rejected, either. You and some others have just made assumptions and run with them. Still, not posting a story since February gives you no real knowledge of current posting times, does it? I've submitted within the week.

WTF Are you talking about?

LC asked if he clicked the pending.

We both made comments about 2-7 days then you and tex showed up talkinglike know-it-all gods.
No assumptions here except from you in the post I just quoted and tex before you.

Get. Good. Loser.

I guess you don't know the difference between pending and rejection notice then.

The bottom line is that TxRad's last submission to the general file was in October and mine was this week--and yours was February. I'll leave it to you (and others) to do the math on who can speak best to current submission clearing times.

Incidentally, PayDay, I see that you just hit 121 straight posts in talking to yourself on your irrelevant vanity thread here since someone else posted on it on 1 October. Maybe that's a record in self-absorption? :D

Too little gay appreciation in a story causes problems.

That's a stretch in blame. Doc submitted stories always take longer, if it's changed in the past 10 months you wouldn't know anyway, because you don't submit docs, you submit text.

This thread was cool, as usual, until you showed up. I was even going to show the OP how to search, but nooo.

The fact that you two morons have submitted stories recently in no way changes mine nor LCs posts. In point of fact, you both could have just agreed with us if you both didn't have an obsessive desire to be more right about something that was already right.

You're fucking stupid and condescending.

You're fun. Really crazy, but fun. But I wished someone had handed you out to a trick-or-treater last night. :D

And, as you've already noted, we have no idea what submission method the OP used, do we?

I fucking know that. At no point did I type that I knew his submission method. Maybe you should get some reading comprehension before you try and interpret written English.

Feel free to call me crazy. Theory is not fact. I know this difference. Obviously you don't.

Better yet, here's a question which you should answer, but you probably won't, since you never do when it makes you look bad:

Why did you show up in this thread, it obviously wasn't to help, so:
Why?

Same goes for TX. Why did you show up with angst and post in a thread, with that post not accomplishing anything?

To what are you trying to prove?

I know you can, but should you?

By the way, PayDay, did you somehow get permission to use that image in your avatar, or did you steal it?

You are so petty and weak. Be a dick. The true strength if greatness is to compensate for the foul actions of the jealous and to continue on.

That should be obvious. Being current authors at Lit., both TxRad and I showed up to correct the standard time for story posting--and to point out that it's been a very long time since the contests have had any effect on general file posting times at all.

We showed up in support of the OP getting current information.

The question for you is why you answered at all on current clearing dates when you haven't submitted a story here for nine months. If you hadn't given bum information, neither TxRad no I would have had to give more accurate information.

It still boggles my mind that team games here on the whole range of issues seem more important to folks than supporting the OP is.
