This subject has fascinated me. I read about actual donations to girls on the web somewhere a while back and this led to what was probably an inappropriate discussion at work with some girlfriends. None of us had had what amounts to cash offered but all of us had had some sort of little (or not so little) present offered by virtual strangers. Those of us that accepted something were surprised how little pressure there was to do something for the gift.

The article had several donors they talked to that got this real rush from doing so. It seems like it would feel like taking advantage to take a lot.

I think the web has made this sort of thing more common. If a guy buys a girl that he really doesn't know even flowers or something in real life it seems stalkerish because he knows where you live or work or whatever. When it is over the web and they live hundreds or thousands of miles away, it is less scary.
