We over here couldn't live without the classic Sunday roast. What do you fat bastards eat?...

Where I'm from, historically the woman of the house had a ham on Sunday, then the cracked hambone was used to make Red Beans and Rice on Monday.

You can find all sorts of souvenirs with this recipe story on them.

I grew up on

Sunday Ham

Monday Ham and pinto beans soup

Tuesday Ham and Beans chimichangas

It was usually gone by then.

Growing up, we always had a roast beef dinner at my grandmothers , every single sunday. These days, we switch it up a bit , and I am far away from my grans table. We will do a big meal , regardless of the menu... Sunday is a day for Family :) .

I have a chicken trussed up and soaking in some brine. It'll be rotisserie'd in a few hours.

for the record, i had a shitty burrito and murderous thoughts that were unrelated to the burrito.

Today I'm making chicken pot pie from the chicken made on Friday.

Has a Brit I have had home made carrot and coriander soup followed by home made teriyaki chicken and noodles.

Today was roast pork, roast spuds, roast parsnips, peas, gravy and Yorkshire Puddings.

School lunch was Red Beans and Rice on Wendnesday. Maybe they figured the native Louisianians needed Tuesday off? Shrimp Gumbo on Friday.

I like Dirty Rice better than Red Beans and Rice. And if you're going to stretch your budget with Rice, best is Boudain Sausage.
