Charles Barkley: “Unintelligent Blacks” “Brainwashed” To Keep Successful Black Men Down

I always liked Charles. Growing up and going to school in the inner city, as I did, you get to see first hand how bad it really is. The loss of the black family unit has created huge challenges.

Via The Daily Caller:

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke candidly about the problems facing the black community when appearing on a Philadelphia radio station, accusing “unintelligent,” “brainwashed” African-Americans of keeping successful ones down.

While appearing on “Afternoons with Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis,” Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.”

Barkley went on a long monologue on the subject: ”Unfortunately, as I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a dirty, dark secret; I’m glad it’s coming out.”

we see it played out on LIT daily

IreemCOLOREDKuzins a prime example and so many more

The story that Barkley tells that I enjoy was the one about he and his mother watching the '92 democrat convention and one of the speakers was doing a 'stem winder' revolving around demonizing the rich.

He relates how his mother was doing a running commentary;

"You tell'em!"

"Preach on brother." etc.

Barkley turned to his mother and said, "But mom, we ARE the rich now."

He said his mother turned to him with a quizzical look on her face and then all of a sudden you could see realization dawning on her expression. She turned back to the TV and remained silent the rest of the evening.

This is so true. Like they say ( and I witness) my people are like crabs in a bucket.

Over the years I've experienced the hate here from other Indians (I'm not into native-American) who are appalled that I have a Libertarian outlook instead of a tribe-first outlook.

Hey, if you want a tribe-first existence, pick a third-world country and enjoy, because that's why a lot of them are third world.

[Okay libs, here are my words again, I still own them. PROUDLY!]

They are content to not reach their full human potential, because just like Aristotle's observation that some men are born to be slaves, they are content in the sense of security that they gain be refusing to be an individual to being a less-than-human member of a herd. Herds, in nature, gather to make the individual indistinguishable and thus perhaps someone else will be taken by the lion. Someone who is too young, too old, or too sick; they become the sacrificial, and hey, isn't that what we do with our new health care system (and abortion)?

Condi Rice was AUnt Jemima, but as long as the other Rice is Democrat, she can lie repeatedly to us and survive, unlike Ray Rice who had to go down (but when Bristol got her beat-down, the same fucking people celebrated).

yup.....

look at IREEMKUZINS, obviously intelligent and talented......working so hard to NIGGERIZE himself

why?

to what end??????

I know that Barkley was addressing his comments to the black community but his comments could easily be expanded to ANY community.

Truly successful individuals, black, white, Asian, Latin, are no longer looked up to as role models but are vilified by politicians and the press. They are made to be outcasts from their own community. And this has another effect, that being that in the desire to be 'wanted' by your own group the incentive is to NOT succeed. You have to give every appearance of being the 'victim, the oppressed, 'down for the struggle.' The anti-education, anti-success mind set takes hold and the desire to 'fit in' becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

There are a few, a very few, that can unshackle their minds and escape from their self-imposed hell. And then there are the charlatans, like J. Jackson and A. Sharpton, that capitalize on the mind set for their own financial benefit. The rest just act out their part as the victim consumed with envy and hatred of those that did manage to break the mold and escape.

If you want to be successful its wise to associate with successful people because the boyz in the hood aren't going to get you anywhere and will tear you down if you actually are getting somewhere.

The politics and social antics of envy, which after all of these years, I still contend is the greatest less than human sin.

;)

Real men don't envy, they emulate.

Nobody is born to be a slave, shit just happens. I tell people all the time, if I was born in the 1800s I would've never been a slave. I would've died before I let someone own me. Death b4 dishonor, and I got that tatted. People are not born to be slaves, they just decide to be one.

The saddest part of that is that so many that made that decision still think of themselves as free men.

That is my consistent point, that when given opportunity, many less than humans will happily trade away all sorts of liberty (and risk) for stability and security even if it means surrendering all hope of anything better than the minimum required to breed and being subject to the whims of those they surrender to. When lacking a proper "master" class, they will create a system that brings one about and they will then castigate in complete befuddlement those of us whom reject their "good life."

They redefine freedom to mean the master(s) can tell you what you will or will not eat, but you still get to pick the restaurant.

;) ;)

They'll tell you what you can or cannot drive to your meal, but you still get to pick the body style and color or which mass transit car that you will get into.

They'll tell you, yes you can have children, but their education, religion and philosophy will be chosen by the master(s).

And so on and so forth.

It takes a village, idiot! You didn't build that! Why are you engaged in hate thought?

We'll soon have laws against that too!

Robot.

Because Barkley is so unsuccessful:rolleyes:

This reminds me of one of the most outright ridiculous things I ever heard and I can't for the life of me remember what moron said it.

Back when the Cosby shows was at the peak of its popularity in the 80's someone came out and said the show was unfair to blacks because Cosby was a doctor on his show and his wife was a lawyer and it portrayed blacks as having more success than they really have:rolleyes:

At the root of it Barkley does have a point and the Martin trial drove that point home to me when Martin's ignorant friend who seemed to think it was funny to get up on the stand and act belligerent as well as semi literate to the point she ended up being a detriment to her friend she was supposedly trying to obtain justice for.

There is a faction(for lack of a better word) of the black community that seems to want to "stay down" and bitch about it and they get pissed off when another faction of black people have the nerve to go to school and work hard and achieve something for themselves.

You make some good points but the rest be bullshit. I only could speak for the majority because I am the majority. A young black kid from the ghetto. Let me tell you something about us. We gone do whatever we want to do whenever we want to do it. I agree that my people are lost, I'm lost too. But all that master shit is not true. Nobody put chains on us (nomore). We put it on ourselves. We don't answer to nobody but our own stupidity. And thats only because we feel like we don't have another way. When you grow up in the jungle how can everyone except you to be anything else but a animal?

Master is a euphemism for government.

I might have been too subtle and clever for my own good.

I sometimes forget that while Ishmael can easily see where I'm coming from, others have not known me that long to understand the underpinnings of my thought process.

We are in a process, long and gradual, of voting ourselves into a tyranny with the promise of security at the cost of only a tiny amount of liberty.

A_J's corollary #16, “The New Age Liberal does not believe that the government should always grow larger in the future. He just wants a little more government now.”

Of course, this new security blanket must be funded, so we have to develop a culture that redefines man's relation to government into from each according to ability, to each according to need.

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."
Frédéric Bastiat

Oh, you most certainly do have 'masters.' They are those in the media and the politicians that reinforce all of the self-destructive mind sets that motivate you and are parroted by members of your own community. Those that confirm your victim hood so as to give you excuses to not succeed and straw men to throw stones at and blame for your lack of success. They provide you with the convenient 'it's not my fault' pillow to land on so you never have to take responsibility for your own actions/decisions.

And I hope that you (personal you) realize that I am using the plural 'you' in the above paragraph because for all I know you (personal) are in the process of throwing off the shackles if you haven't already.
