eeeeeeeew!

the over 80's like it sliced & fried.
so I do not believe age = wisdom.

Sliced and fried. Yes. Pepper it, eat it with your pancakes, or make a sandwich. Ambrosia? Maybe. Delicious? Certainly.

In a survival situation I will eat it cold, but it is much more tolerable if you slice it thin and fry the fat out of it.

You know, I've never tried it.

Que?

Hormel is about a hundred miles from where I live. I never buy Spam, and I rarely notice it in the grocery stores. But take a quick trip to Hawaii, and see it everywhere.

I was talking to someone on lit here from Germany I think? A sandwich popular there is called "The Hawaiian." It features cheese pineapple and spam.

I made it against her advice. (She likes it for the nostalgia of her dad making it.)

It was awful.

Not by itself...but make it as an ad-hoc Spam McMuffin with Egg after a night of hard drank and I'ma tear that shit up. ;)

I go to a Hawaiian BBQ place for lunch often. My co-worker orders Spam Musubi every time, but I stick with the Katsu Chicken.

Spam just looks....unappealing.

Every so often. I cut it up into little cubes and fry it until it's black then mix it in with cheesy scrambled eggs.

After Hawaii, Alaska has the highest per capita consumption of Spam. When you don't have refrigeration, canned meat keeps well. Also, Spam doesn't freeze until it's close to 0°F.

SPAM is excellent but I prefer its poor cousin TREET. Treet costs half as much as Spam and tastes identical to Liverwurst. Its the other grey meat.

not eaten it since childhood, when it was a cheap dinner - sliced, dipped in batter and fried... spam fritters. didn't hate it but wasn't keen on it; too greasy, and an odd texture, with no great rewards flavour-wise. no doubt someone with a little skill and some imagination could make a tasty thing of it now.
