Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Killing fucking Xena that quick was a goddamn shame. SHIELD really needs a big win here.

I don't think for a second that Simmons is true Hydra. Undercover would be my guess because it'd be really shitty otherwise.

My money is that she's on ice somewhere and will come back with a cyborg arm. You just don't kill off Xena at the start of a season.

Then again, I was betting on Saffron Burrows as Agent Hand coming back after that head tap from Ward's gun after he ternt Hydra back in Season 1. Look where that one got me.

The same place it got me. Killing Xena is terrible, she did flat out mention that they can do amazing things with robotics these days so it wouldn't even be a swerve if she were to show up with a cybernetic arm, hell possibly one that's indistinguishable from her real arm though that would be a bit of a waste. We'll see where things go from here.

It was a shock that they've killed Lawless so quickly, though I did hear rumours about her being such a fan of the Marvel universe that she was willing to take any role she could to be in there somewhere...

Simmons is undercover. Coulson has learnt from Fury well.... He's sent her off on a secret mission behind everyone's backs (well... Maybe not May) for reasons we haven't been shown yet.

The thing is I got the impression from the season 1 finale that Coulson deeply disagrees with a lot of the way Fury ran things. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

Lucy was in Spiderman for a heartbeat, she's the woman who comments that a guy with eight hands sounds kinda hot when they are interviewing people about Spiderman.

I would have liked to see her in a bigger role, cus I like her. I also like that her husband was apparently sitting around and realized his wife is hot.

Sam: Hey Lucy, do you have any idea how many fanboys would love to see Xena's tits?

Lucy: Yeah, but that shows over and was PG-13 anyway. I mean we pushed the envelope some but nothing like

Sam: No no, I'm gonna do a show called Spartacus and I want you to walk around topless. . .like all the fucking time. And we'll put you in different wigs so people can see blond Xena or Redhead Xena or traditional Xena and we'll get some cute little blond for you to play with too.

Lucy: You just want to show me off don't you.

Sam: *nod*

Lucy: Cool. But I want to fuck that guy before he goes to Arrow to steal another show. Seriously why won't they give that man a leading role? He steals every show he's on for fucks sake.

And thanks to you, I've watched this three times over and still can't keep laughing:

Star Wars Recut Like Guardians Of The Galaxy Is All Kinds of Wonderful

Some mashups just work. A few of them really, really work. This is an example of the latter.

YouTuber The Unusual Suspect took footage from the original Star Wars trilogy and repackaged it in the style of the first few GotG trailers. It's a little unreal how mimicking the latter's action-packed visual comedy while applying its font and musical choice can add up to this much wonderful. Seriously, I've watched this five or six times now and I can't stop grinning like an idiot.

That kinda screws Agents, but I can't complain because it's so damned awesome.

I may take a change of pants when I see AoU.

I don't care. I'm still gonna scream like a Japanese fangirl when they play it next week at the end of Agents. :D

Oh, the 10 year-old me is *squeeeeeing* over that trailer. I've loved Avengers (esp. Iron Man) since I started reading comics. ;)

That episode will stay on my DVR for months!

I'm trying to find a downloadable QT of that trailer so I don't have to reload the site and take it on the go. Watched it five times already. :D

This show has been getting better. They're finding a way to deal with the "where the fuck are all the superheroes?" complaints.

But more to the point, the eye candy has been ramped up. I liked the Simmons-to-Hydra subplot (short lived as it was) because, you know, more Simmons.

Lookout denizens of literotica nerdity, here be mea culpas from your friendly neighborhood Funboy.

So since the last time I posted in here I have seen Winter Soldier, thought it was great, I have not yet re-watched the Dark World but will sooner or later. But aside from that.....what I also saw was the latest Spider-Man and after the diss heard 'round the thread that I dropped last time I have to say now that I've seen it, that it... is one outstanding Spider-man movie. Exciting, thrilling, with wonderful action and great character work. Jamie Foxx was a terrible choice...Max Dillon and Electro were dumb. But I forgive. This movie told the story of Gwen Stacy properly. Maybe this portrayal of her had more sass and was not pure as snow, the story played out true to the source, beat for beat. It broke my heart.

Whoa they are planning a Sandman movie at some point? Forget it and tell the Lucifer story. Sandman would be a much better TV series. That poster is suspect. Cyborg, Female Spiderman spin-off, Venom: Carnage, Aquaman?

As for SHIELD? ZZZzzzzz.... ZZZzzz..... Put season 2 of Arrow making it to Netflix last weekend in a bowl and throw in 2 tablespoons of the existence of Gotham and now a dash of the debut of Constantine tonight and whisk gently..... and SHIELD is feeling like an also-ran. I have much more zeal for Gotham currently and Arrow is a flat out superior show. I really really wish that SHIELD were more Joss-y.

Oh ye of little faith! :D

Arrow may be the apple darling of a DC lover's eye now, but I have been told it sure didn't start that way. Gotham has its share of detractors and The Flash seems to be starting out slow also, although the little bit of the pilot I caught was fair.

SHIELD has a better anchoring going into S2 than S1 thanks to its structure being firmly established with everyone's emotional targets being fully exploited and a centralized villain source that affects the whole universe it exists within. This really started up during the second half of S1, but now shit just got a bit darker after the events of CapAm 2 and they haven't forgotten how that movie worked. There's also been a ramping up of the Marvel comic book elements into the show sans the cornball factor. There's no Scorch throwaways (as of yet, hopefully), but we can enjoy better actual canon characters bringing noise like Absorbing Man.

Plus, it's just getting started. There's likely to be a lot of Easter Eggs to be hatched during the fun. If the arc of change goes for this season like it did last season, but on the current level, then I expect nothing but fun times on up until it crossover segues into Age Of Ultron, which is casting B.J. Britt as Agent Triplett if IMDB cast page is to be believed.

i tried catching up on it a few weeks ago and while i'll admit it's better than i initially thought it still doesn't hold me for long. still, it's not bad when i'm bored with community and 30 rock reruns and the doctor who and mst3k nostalgia trips.

anyway, when does the agent carter thing start? that i'm actually still curious about.

AFAIK, Agent Carter is filling in the gap between the first and second halves of SHIELD S2 later this year into the beginning of next. Remember when they took that long assed break that didn't end until after SuperBowl? Someone figured out that they could fill that in with a good bridge story about SHIELD's origins and also because Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter trended big time since CapAm 1...AND also since she's in Age Of Ultron (possibly in the brief flashback (?) scene with Cap in that leaked trailer, but she's still alive as an aged character now, so who knows) and I'm pretty sure they're gonna tie in the future with the past somehow. And they've got that beady-eyed Gestapo dude living in the here and now because of the Obelisk whom she captured at the start of S2, so there's gon' be some 'splaining to do.
