Avatar pic

There are women on here with real sophistication. If you will enjoy some thread flirting and pm-ing with them, don't offer them a face-full in your av; they would simply go elsewhere.

Perhaps not as an avatar. But there are two men on Lit that I first contacted based on an impressive cock shot on their profile page.

I think there may be some prohibition showing erections. But if it's flaccid, like my avatar, I don't think there'd be a problem.

A dick is a dick... though you may be right about what's technically allowed and what's not.

See the link in my sig.

I've always looked at it as how you want to present yourself. Do you want your penis to be what you're known for? Do you want the majority of the forum to gloss over your posts or put you on ignore? There will likely be some women that like it, but they're in the minority. A profile pic is a bit different - someone has to have some interest in you to see it. That's okay, IMO.

Also, ass or tits are not the same as dick pics. You don't see women with close-up vaj shots or gaping asshole avatars.

It's all about perspective.

Very true, but it's not really all about size as much as the statement it made in my mind. Both men were (and are) very intelligent and articulate man with numerous posts on various topics, and that is what initially drew me to look at their profiles. Seeing their cocks on their profile pages (as opposed to their avatar, which might have been too obvious initially?) reminded me why they were here on Lit... it was a bold statement made by them, an almost arrogant flaunting of who they were, suggesting confidence and a dominant will. It made me want to know more about them, and I wasn't disappointed once I did.

A cock avatar basically shows that you don't understand women.

It's pretty much the same as the unsolicited dickpic. The thing is, you like pussy, because you are a guy. You figure that girls are going to like cock for the same reason, so you put one up there (and being somewhat full of yourself, you think your cock is actually above average when statistically speaking there's just as much of a chance it's not).

But, women have a diverse range of interests, and by and large are not as attracted to pictures of genitalia as men are. Sure, there are a few girls out there who like it -and there are guys out there who prefer written stories over pictures. It's a somewhat arrogant gesture, and there are women who are attracted to that, too. It might even work as a public shaming thing where you are reducing your self-image to just your genitalia -in effect, objectifying yourself- and there are probably women into that, as well. See? Diverse range of interests.

Bottom line, however, is that you're showing you are not bothering with understanding her, knowing what turns her on/off and generally taking an interest in a person. You're just doing what you like and not making the effort to find out what she likes. And that's not very attractive.

I see a few suppositions you've made here: first, that I posted my avatar to impress other men, that I posted it to arouse women, and that it's not appropriate for pictures of a sexual nature to be posted onr a sexual forum. None of these are true.

First, I don't think my cock is any more impressive than anybody else's. Based on published statistics and my own observations in the gym, I'd say that it's boringly average, in both its flaccid and erect state.

Second, women are not exclusively the intended target. I think many men get off on seeing other guy's dicks ... I certainly do. Many of us, male and female alike, have an exhibitionist streak in us, and this is a harmless and enjoyable way to indulge in it.

Third, it's not like some dickpic that comes to you out of the blue. If you're looking for a forum where you are assured of not seeing pictures of naked body parts, maybe Literotica is not for you.

And I totally agree with that. It's a matter of personal preference. If you look at comments on some of the picture threads, you'll find people who are disgusted with bald pussies, and others who are disgusted with hairy ones. If something is not exactly to your liking, you move on. That's how we roll.

I'm shaming myself by showing just my junk? Does that standard apply to a woman who shows just her breast? I look at it as a way of saying, "Look, this is part of me, too... a part that I don't let everybody in my life see, but only those who appreciate me for the sexual creature I am."

Bottom line, however, is that you're showing you are not bothering with understanding her, knowing what turns her on/off and generally taking an interest in a person. You're just doing what you like and not making the effort to find out what she likes. And that's not very attractive.

You're reading an awful lot into a simple avatar. As for whether or not I understand what women want, I'll let my stories speak for themselves. Yeah, they're male fantasies, but most of my male characters care very much indeed about who their partners are, and what gets their partners off. I like to think that this characteristic makes them more than just stroke stories.

By the way, I've changed my avatar pic ... not in response to this thread, but because I like the new one that shows male and female genitalia together, enjoying each other's company but not in any rush to do the dirty. My idea of the Peaceable Kingdom, I guess.

What is the difference in a woman showing her ass or tits in her avatar pic?

Men get off more easily on visuals of the female form. It's been my experience that women prefer a mystery rather than an exposed cock. Now, technically I may have a dick pic, but I've gotten some good compliments via PM and it's in the pants, so there you go.
