Race, Crime, And Inconvenient Facts

Not at all, I'm not a Democrat. Just interested in the truth. We know how harmful this is to your false narrative, but tough shit.

You're the one with all the narratives, dude. I'm just laughing at the loonies.

The USA knows what the game is with blacks, and few wanna invite any grief from the poverty pimps. But I'd rather lock horns with you assholes than burn a cross on your lawn.

Ferguson (get the spelling correct, schmuck) happened on August 9th of this year.

How does one have an "aftermath" article dating from a year prior?

In the alternative reality of VetteWorld. It's a Whackadoodle Disneyland.

The article doesn't state it is in the aftermath of Ferguson, Vetteman did in his one-line preface to the article.

And I am not sure if he meant the article was a response to Ferguson, or he was just offering it as a response.

He tends to be a bit unclear on such details. We can only hope he will someday master the simple declarative English sentence, and get over the egocentric idea that people should just somehow KNOW what he means, because he is so important.

All of which is a side issue.

Please concentrate on the facts. Are the facts as presented in that article accurate? Where did they come from? Can anyone provide a link.

In so many meandering, unnecessary words... you're breaking out the ol' "reverse racism" chestnut.

Yeah, I can see how that applies to Oklahoma over the last year.

You dumb fucking ass.

Yet another total fail by Mr. Genius.... I'm utterly shocked he's not here debunking you fuckers and defending his honor!! And where is miles to back him up? What about Uncle Fester? No bro cavalry for vettey?

That article is from last year.

Given that we are seeing the same themes repeated this year, the article seems prescient. Were you under the impression that it doesn't speak to the issues raised in Ferguson? The article pushes back a little hard for my taste but the facts presented are correct. They just are not polite to talk about.

After Ferguson, there will be yet another isolated incident and it will also be presented as a meaningful example of why blacks should fear whites and/or police officers. It will be just as invalid an argument then.

The same people will insist that it is a trend. Anyone of any color shot unnecessarily is a tragedy of a personal dimension. Elevating it to the national stage accomplishes nothing meaningful.

Statistically it doesn't happen in any numbers worth discussing. Understandably, that is understandably, no comfort to the friends and family left behind.

If, every time a black person killed a white person, it was assumed to be racially motivated and discussed endlessly, it would also accomplish nothing but inflame tensions.

One could easily find more incidents of that, but what would be the point? Each person willing to take a life made an independent, socially unacceptable decision.

I am statistically a lot more likely to be killed by a black person than Zumi is to be killed by a white guy (cop or no.) I don't assume it to be likely at all. I do a lot of things that are far more dangerous in life than hang around black people. Even if I am being a mouthy little asshole, very few people regardless of color are willing to forfeit their liberty to assault me, let alone kill me for no reason.

Cops are no different. They do not relish a shooting review board. I think it is a valid point that they probably do make more errors with black suspects and it is likely that they do so because of fear. Sometimes that might be general prejudice such as assumptions of intent or weapons, sometimes it is because the suspect who is black is also appears to be be stronger than the cop.

As a result of that dynamic, black suspects that have no ill-intentions tend to move in an slow, deliberate, and clearly compliant ways. Cops get used to that. When a suspect for whatever reason behaves aggressively, the cops react swiftly.
