I used to play a game with my daughter (taught to me by my dad) where we would start to count as soon as we saw lightening and keep counting until we heard the thunder. That how i got her over her fear of storms.

Not a fan of the rain. It's cold and miserable. Yet, not a bad reason to spend the day inside the cabin in jammies, in front of the fire, reading a good book.

If it takes five seconds for the sound of the thunder to reach you, the lightning strike was about a mile away. But I like it close. Really close. Makes me feel more alive.
