My contention was and is that the word is so bad and so egregious that no one should be able to use it or then logically is some are able to use it, there is no reason for everyone to not be able to use it.

Is LT okay with anything? No. He's fucking insane and everyone here knows it.

I do not think it is ever okay to refer to your girl friend as a slut.

Let her call herself that if she wishes to be LESS THAN HUMAN.

You see, if butters had said that originally, then I would not have called her out as a liar; but she decided to up the seriousness of the charge (in order to protect a racist) to language which she knew was more inflammatory.

Robs relentless style is effective. He repeats things endlessly until they are believed...someone recently characterized me as throwing around homophobic slurs because in direct response to his endless 5th grade homophobic taunts I also changed his name the way he does.

I don't really care one way or the another if the petty bickering "soils" the GB as it isn't a forum that gets daily housekeeping in any case.

I have had Rob on a schedule. He is on ignore on all days of the month that are not a prime number. I push back a bit. Let him know that continuing to belittle me comes at a cost. Then I back off and let him bluster... I have found that no combination of ignoring, peaceful coexistence or push-back makes any difference.

This isn't a situation of he makes personal attacks and I make personal attacks back. He makes unprovoked personally offensive attacks, I call him on it, and include with that all of the personal attacks he makes on others.

If you choose to see it as some kind of even exchange of insults, you are free to do so.

If I have any goal at all it is to ensure that any day he chooses to be vulgar towards me, is a day that he has no pleasant exchanges on the board without being reminded of the steaming pile he just left. I have explained this to him, and he still seems to think "baiting" me is worth it to him.

Words can have different meanings given the level of familiarity between speaker and audience.

Maybe when one of "those people"--to use your vernacular--calls another of "those people" nigger it's acceptable, but when you or I do, it is not.

You used nigger to get under LT's skin. Why is it wrong, then, for Rob to use the same tactic?
