I take a certain pride in maintaining a relatively even temper. This is not something that was natural to me. It is a bit of work. When someone does get under my skin I am far less irritated by whatever barb they used than by the fact that it ruffled my feathers at all.

There is no end goal. I detest bullies and I have never backed down from one, ever.

If he were not such a fixture around the place and did not believe that he has some support I would have already raised the cost of doing business to him to the point that it is not fun for him to the point he would have wandered on. I have successfully driven several bullies off this way when iggy didn't have any effect on them.

I realize that his perception of belonging here is all that he has, so he is not leaving, but the general meta-troll principle applies.

Trolls can be ignored or meta-trolled. I choose the latter. He had this style of being virulently despicable in threads that realistically the more genteel members of the board tend to avoid. He got to get his rocks off being hateful in on thread then ease over to a 'safe' one like the blurt thread or one of the other friendly back and forth threads and maintain friendships while acting like he has some sort of justification for what he is doing.
