The Isolated Blurt Thread IX: Insurrection

next time put some cheese on it and see if the dog breaks down and cries. mine would. mainly because she loves cheese and is scared of cats.

with the poodle, she would literally climb into his bowl and take food from out of his mouth. with this one, she just twats it on the nose.

my dog is a poodle as well. a tiny one. honestly, her fear of cats is understandable. she's smaller than some of the squirrels around here. she wouldn't even get close enough to get bopped on the nose.

No, but if I'm going to the store anyway, I may as well grab some. :D
The cheesesteak is also a delicious idea. I read some recipes recently that called for wrapping the finished product tightly in aluminum foil and baking for 10-15 minutes to make it extra gooey and delish.
I made some chicken phillies and did that, and it was stupendous. Added benefit: you can throw them in the fridge or freezer with the foil on and then toss them in the oven to reheat and they're as good as fresh.

Sorry, I read way too many food blogs.

my boy was huge. her whole head fitted in his mouth.

My dog is [part] poodle too, but she enjoys playing with the cats...so long as she doesn't think they're getting too much of my attention.

Don't apologize! That's genius.

Be sure to toast the bread first!

my niece once brought a maybe four week old kitten over because, you know, kittens are adorable and who doesn't want them? well, chewie doesn't. in fact, she hid behind the couch until the kitten was removed. it was kind of amusing, honestly. she's such a damn baby, but what can you do? i hate caterpillars, so i know i can't judge.

he's so puffy. mine still gets the puppy cut, because... puffy.

and i know the feeling. i still miss my chihuahua tiny and it's been like ten years. such a smart, cute, shaky dog. a little yappy, but that's what dogs are for. they're doorbells that play fetch and treat you like you're the king shit when you give them some of your cheeseburger.

I made initial, cold-call contact and she asked me how much for a 1 page site. Personally holding that a 1 page site is virtually worthless, but needing cash to pay rent, I immediately quoted her $150; she just as quickly asked if I could meet her in 2 hours to continue our discussion...

...four and a half hours later our meet ended with the agreement of creating a 5-6 page website for her e-commerce idea to start, at a price far higher than the 1 page price initially quoted (unfortunately for my now due rent, she doesn't want to start the project til Oct 31).

And then she asked if I knew anything about computers because, she said, her's was running really slow and then she cited the word "viruses" two or three times, and mentioned she wasn't running an anti-virus program on it; I asked her how long she had had her cmptr ("about a year"), if anyone had ever scanned it for her ("not that I know of"), and if others used her cmptr, too ("yes, my son" and a couple of others); I told her I could come back the next day and take a look at it if that was okay...

...her cmptr is, indeed, about a year old and runs 8.1 (I have no intimate knowledge of anything MS above XP); it had no firewall enabled, not even Window's, and for whatever reason someone had also disabled Defender; no other anti-virus protection resided on the machine. Of course, then, it was overtly heavily infected with a cornucopia of malware - a ton of which had anchored themselves to the two browsers she uses: Chrome & IE.

It took Malwarebytes a bit more than 3 hours to completely scan her computer, while I dug and rooted through her comptr's installed programs, extentions, add-ons; it took only minutes to delete all the malware and a few more to get rid of the two Trojans mbam uncovered, but I knew there was still more left...

...I returned the next day and spent another 3 hours going deeper into her files and uninstalling all the junk I could find, getting her firewall back up, enabling Defender and then enacting Defender's scan - which turned-up two Hack scripts and a Monitoring program, all which were easily removed.

So after 6 hours of cleansing, her cmptr ran as fast and as uncluttered as if it was brand-new again. She was delighted...

...and then asked if she owed me anything.

WTF?

But I kept myself in check (thinking about the bigger payday creating, establishing, marketing, and maintaining her website will bring) and simply said, If you want to pay me, that's fine, but it's no big deal...

...she gave me $20.

he got pissed with me over the brown shooting thread and climate stuff, then started in with the slurs and general attempts at character assassination. calling me a liar was his wrong move. i value justice, balance, integrity more than most people i know. it's core to me. he should have shut up and not underestimated me. as for that whole 'she's had a grudge blah blah bblah' what shit. he's simply not that important and i don't do grudges - pure waste of emotional investment.

Unemployment has made him even grouchier than usual, something I didn't think possible.

He's unloaded on Phelia, Sigh and now you in the past two weeks, I think having to surrender the title of "primary breadwinner" to his spouse has damaged his psyche tremendously.

I had to wear pants cause it was cold outside. I can't tell you how much I hate pants.
