Hitler studied American eugenics laws. He tried to legitimize his anti-Semitism by medicalizing it, and wrapping it in the more palatable pseudoscientific facade of eugenics. Hitler was able to recruit more followers among reasonable Germans by claiming that science was on his side. While Hitler's race hatred sprung from his own mind, the intellectual outlines of the eugenics Hitler adopted in 1924 were made in America.

During the '20s, Carnegie Institution eugenic scientists cultivated deep personal and professional relationships with Germany's fascist eugenicists. In Mein Kampf, published in 1924, Hitler quoted American eugenic ideology and openly displayed a thorough knowledge of American eugenics. "There is today one state," wrote Hitler, "in which at least weak beginnings toward a better conception [of immigration] are noticeable. Of course, it is not our model German Republic, but the United States."

Hitler proudly told his comrades just how closely he followed the progress of the American eugenics movement. "I have studied with great interest," he told a fellow Nazi, "the laws of several American states concerning prevention of reproduction by people whose progeny would, in all probability, be of no value or be injurious to the racial stock."

Hitler even wrote a fan letter to American eugenic leader Madison Grant calling his race-based eugenics book, The Passing of the Great Race his "bible."

You were all wound up and emotional and crying to move heaven and earth for the United States to get in there, get busy and build them a new civilization out of the ashes of disaster. What really got you wound up was me, and others, like Ishmael, miles, Byron, just to name a few really wondered what would actually happen when the 15 minute moment was over and people such as yourself forgot all about Haiti and never gave it another passing thought. Which, you did. You haven't mentioned for three years.

But you did carry a grudge. You assigned me a position, a horrible one and put words in my mouth that I did not utter simply because you did not like my viewpoint. So for the last three years, while I have tried to be nice to you, you have been everyone who hates me for my viewpoint to your buddy list, no matter how vile and hateful they are.

You are not butter, you are not cream, you are not sour cream or curdled milk.

Why should I care?

What have they done to save their own humanity?

When did they stand up for themselves and fight back against tyranny?

Why have they just "accepted" what fate has dealt to them, and if they're willing to accept their fate, then why should I not also adopt the fatalism endemic to that half of the island? At least they don't have winter to contend with; maybe that's why they won't struggle on their own behalf...

In this regard, I do see them as less than human, just like the idiots wound up on Jihad willing to turn themselves into robotic slaves for Allah, ergo, I'm not too concerned about the "humanitarian" nature of the disaster any more that I got too terribly worked up over the hands-out welfare wards in the wards of Louisiana's welfare state after Katrina.

The people all wound up now, are pretty much the same people who were willing to let the people of Iraq rot under Saddam, a man-made humanitarian disaster, who were actually willing to fight until we stood silent while they were gassed and used to fill mass graves...

That death toll, induced by our rhetoric, far exceeds the wrath of nature in Haiti where the people have yet to rise up and storm that pathetic little mansion its "leaders" hid in until nature did them a favor and raised it...

Maybe now they'll catch the fever to do something about their plight.

Maybe they'll fight for Liberty and Prosperity.

Actually I believe it was Noor who claimed Byron had quite a few alts of his own.
He obviously believed himself to be quite the puppetmaster here.
Still, he died alone.

Byron mainly had other people's discarded alts which he used to tease the people who discarded them. He wasn't heavily invested in using the alts. We had one we shared, but it was just used for our entertainment.

Yes, in unexpected sudden death, most people die alone, or at least not with someone knowing they are dying. As far as Byron being alone in general, he wasn't. He had me, his long time friends and his family. As it turned out, he and I were talking on Skype very shortly before he died and since he didn't know what happened, he had no idea he was dying, alone or otherwise.
