How to resize pictures

I am on an ipad and have been mercilessly beaten within an inch of my life for posting pictures that are too big. I, like the next Apple user, love to randomly click on pretty buttons but none seem to do the trick. Anyone want to help me reclaim my dignity as well as offer a bandage and help me out?

Try using Irfanview. It's free and easy to use. Does all the basic image manipulation you need.

I don't know how to do it with Apple products but with "MS Picture Manager" it's very simple to do. I'd bet it's also as simple with whatever Apple software you may have available to you for editing digital pictures. I would start out googling about adjusting the size of pictures using and Apple computer. You may find a ton of information. If that doesn't work, you may search for alternative photo editing software. There may be some that are free. Sometimes the free stuff is so good that other companies buy it up and then start charging for it. That's what happened with Picassa and then Microsoft bought it. Now it's one of their "for sale" products.

There should be an app you can download to resize pictures on an iPad. Look in the Apple Store for a Free app or go to CNet...

If you only need to do it occasionally, there are websites that will do the trick without needing to install anything - googling "website to resize images" will find them.

I forgot about those. I don't use them, but I know they are there.

Found this one, Free Online Picture Resize. Tried it out, works pretty good.

Next to the quote button there's a button with a double-quote and a plus symbol on it, "+ sort of thing. Click that on each of the posts you want to quote, then just use the normal quote option on the last of them.

I use google image search to find smaller pics. There are two similar ways that I do it. First go to google image search and do a find for something, pronebone, redheads, whatever.

You will see the results with a bunch of small thumbnail images. If there is a pic you like you can drag it up to the search bar. It should automatically change to a, "Drop Image Here" box. Here's an example:

When you do that, it will show you every sized image of that particular pic. This technique also works with gifs as well. Sometimes google will also give you its best guess at who the person is. Also, depending how many pics there are, Google can group them from small all the way up to wallpaper size.

There is another way that I use this technique. Say I find an image I like on Tapiture.com but it's too small. I will drag the image to my desktop. Then I drag it into google image search.

I have also been using bing.com lately because it seems to post more adult search results than google. When you do an image search with Bing, there is a dedicated "image match" button. Say you type in redheads for example. You can click on a thumbnail pic you like and there will be an "Image Match" link below. That will bring you to a new page that will show all the different-sized versions of that particular image.
