Stargate Past and Future

I am a huge fan of the original Movie and the shows. I'm curious about the thoughts of other fans of the shows about the plans for the upcoming Stargate trilogy reboot. If you aren't aware original creator/director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin envisioned the first movie to be part of a trilogy but due to the movie being sold to MGM, the studio thought more movies would fail so funded the show which took a completely different route than was intended by Emmerich and Devlin. The goal of the reboot is NOT to follow the show canon but to capture the original vision.

I think this is great! It opens up a brand new line of story in a new but loosely related universe!

I'm also a SG fan. Have the movie and all the tv shows on DVD. So I absolutely HAD to make myself a t-shirt. And being a nice guy, I share.

I have never seen Stargate or the shows, but I met and had lunch with one of the actors who was in them, although at the time I had no idea who he was.
It would be cool if he was in the reboot too, since he is a really nice man and I am all for him having more work.

I liked the movie, but never bothered with any of the others because SG-1 was so mediocre. The pilot put out the promise of an edgy show with its full frontal nudity and then it was all downhill from there. I gave up after about six episodes.
