recently found my old metallica CD, it still rawks.

this album was a real eye opener for me, brought me out of the old-school rap phase i was in, and stirred the harder rock thrills i'd gotten as a kid thru ac/dc, led zeplin, et. al.

oddly enough, it didn't segue into my music tastes into speed metal or thrash bands like it did for many others. but many years after first hearing it, it still kicks much ass for me.

(this thread has no point, which is how i roll)

I used to love Metallica years ago. Still sometimes play Garage Inc. Did you see them at Glastonbury?

Master of Puppets was when they were at the top of their game.

They haven't been worth a damn since then.

Just imagine the ripple effect through their albums and the entire heavy metal scene if their first choice of vocalists had agreed to sing for them.

John Bush.

i never saw them perform live.
actually i suck at big concerts. i've been to 2 in my life, Van Halen and Rush.
both were good, but not life changing.

i have just as good a time hearing an unknown band play in a bar.

MOP and Blackened are my two favorite songs by Metallica. I think it's their best stuff, but I am not one that thinks everything after sucks. Enter Sandman, Wherever I May Roam, Sad But True, Holier Than Thou, King Nothing and even the newest album had some great music on it.

I got to see them one time. They played in Charlottesville, VA in 2009. It was an incredible performance by the band, unfortunately the incident where the girl disappeared from the arena and was found dead sullied the memory.

IMO, Black Sabbath are the kings of metal...but Metallica deserves a place near the top any day.

I thought Justice was a better produced album than MoP....But then Ride the lightning was a more raw album.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Couldn't agree more. I personally like Harvester of Sorrow and their cover of Bob Seger's Turn The Page :)

The bass on AJFA was too overwhelming.

I really like their first 3 albums up to Master but it is obvious that Cliff Burton was the real thrasher in that band. After he died they sold out and stink.
I may not look like a metal gal but I love metal. Slayer, Lamb of God, Sylosis, Arch Enemy, Cavalera Conspiracy are some of the bands I like & have seen.

Obviously not me because people can't believe I listen to it. 99% would be shocked to know I'm a member of Lit. :)

People assume I listen to some pop crap Rihanna type stuff.
I was raised as a strict catholic until I found Slayer. Now I reign in hell's blood. :D
