So, in the case of a scenario portrayed by zombie movies or the 28 Days Later movies, what would be your strategy?

Would you seek to survive as long as possible or... would you give up? Could you do it? Could you live in a world infested with humans who have lost their minds and have only the desire to kill you? Could you do what needed to be done to survive? Would you have the will to end it for yourself if the going got too rough? How would you go? By your own hand or... joining the legions of infected?

I was watching Dead Within which explores an infected much like the 28 Days virus. A couple are holed up in a cabin by themselves, barricaded in with wood blocking all openings. Food starts getting scarce and the husband has to forage outside and find what he can each day. And occasionally, they huddle in the dark in the middle of the room, looking around warily, holding their machetes, while growling, diseased humans, intent on their destruction, circle the outside of the cabin and attempt to get inside.

I couldn't do it. The absolute hopelessness would overwhelm me. Constantly banging your head against the wall of "what's the point?"

What if people showed up? Other survivors. If it was just you and someone(s) you were close to... would you open your heart and let them in and save them, despite the danger they might pose? ...could you leave them out there... knowing that they would surely die without you? Could you sit and listen while the hordes of undead surrounded them and ate them to death... and do nothing?

Real talk. Nobody is going to be Tallahassee, so cut the bullshit. What would you really do?

I already have my swords, I sharpen them regularly & practice with them weekly.

Guns are fine & dandy, but swords are silent & never run out of ammo.

My Glock 17 inside my mouth. Sort of a final "blow job" really. Fitting.

I'm going to be one of the first to die so I'm not worried about it.

i am going to latch my jaw around perg's dick and hold on.

I find it disturbing that some of the answers here come across like people have actually given this question some thought prior to this thread.

Is there some kind of outbreak that the rest of us are unaware of yet?

i will not be sharing my strategy, if you are not smart enough to have one planned out, i aint gonna help ya.

It's not surprising, honestly. There have been multiple movies and stories exploring the theme of an infection apocalypse. Each year, the tensions grow in the world and everybody is sort of preparing mentally for end game scenarios. Each new movie that comes out about zombies tries to say something different, so that they don't get repetitive and people pay attention. A lot of times... the outlook ends up incredibly grim when you start to put yourself in the place of the survivors, whether they make a lot of mistakes or whether they're a complete and total badass.

Everyone has. Even the CDC and FEMA have specific plans on what they would do in case of a "zombie apocalypse" and they recommend people develop a plan based on it as well.

And the United Nations- send in Brad Pitt.

the armadillo, maybe.

but not the sparkles.

also, anna kendricks cleavage.

In the UK you can make a Freedom of Information request to a publicly funded organisation.

City Halls are getting flak because those requests reveal that they have no plans to tackle zombie attacks. They have generic emergency plans, but nothing specific for zombies.

But one replied that they would bill the zombies for the cost of reinstating the wrecked graveyards, sending in the bailiffs if the zombies refused to pay. Another, after a full debate in Council at Halloween, declared that they were a zombie-free zone, to add to the nuclear-free zone they already had.

Neither the nuclear-free zone, nor the zombie-free zone, has any practical effect except to make the Councillors feel they have done something.

How do you not have a zombie plan!?

Zombie plan, meh, I have faith in my fellow top of the chain predators to take them out.

Now a plague would be worse.

I might try any of those options, depending on circumstances. Initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility, creativity and will to win are key. "Improvise adapt and overcome".
