Fox News presenters mock female pilot who took part in campaign against Isis

Presenters on US cable channel Fox News cracked a series of sexist jokes after reporting that a female pilot from the UAE had taken part in a bombing mission of Isis targets in Syria, describing her as “boobs on the ground”.

One presenter, Kimberly Guilfoyle, tried to pay tribute to Major Mariam al-Mansouri, 35, one of four UAE fighter pilots to take part in the operation. “Hey, Isis, you were bombed by a woman,” she said. “Very exciting, a woman doing this … I hope that hurt extra bad because in some Arab countries women can’t even drive.”

She continued: “Major Mariam al-Mansouri is who did this. Remarkable, very excited. I wish it was an American pilot. I’ll take a woman doing this any day to them.”

But after the segment, co-host Greg Gutfeld interrupted Guilfoyle, mocking the pilot. “The problem is after she bombed it she couldn’t park it,” he said. Another presenter, Eric Bolling, joined in, asking: “Would that be considered boobs on the ground or no?” The conversation between panellists, which was broadcast on Wednesday, was part of discussion show The Five on Fox News.

Nice....

The Fox News channel

The Five is as you say, a discussion show not a news program.

Next, will you be calling this another example of the "war against women?"

So misogyny is just fine if it's on a "discussion show" and not the actual news?

well, thankewverymuch for clearing that up.

For her to even touch that plane indicates that she is beyond qualified to do so.

Unfortunately her fifteen minutes of fame were focused on childish jokes rather than her accomplishments.

Typical behavior from fox and their republican boot licking audience.

Yes but "women having trouble parking" jokes were very common in the late 50s early 60s and as such are a staple on shows that cater to the Fox News core demographic.

they're just intimidated by her metaphorical ball size.

Notice that even though an American military action is under way, Fox doesn't have the flag graphic on screen like they did in 2003. Hmmm, I wonder what's changed since then?

Why, #ThatNegarPresident of course! ;)

Situational Patriotism has always been a conservative core value.
:nods:

The report was done in poor taste to a point, the mocking, of ISIS was the good side, the other stuff, wasn't required.

On an aside: For all those that hate Faux news so much, you sure must watch a lot of it, to judge them so.

Eric Bolling's wifey forces little Eric to apologize for his remarks

Bolling has had quite a career pandering to the Vetteman-class...bashing coloreds, beaners and women with impunity. Seems he crossed the line with his wifey on the parking comment though, so he's really really contrite today for his part in Gutfieldgate. Gutfield still hasn't apologized, prolly because he's unmarried (i.e. gay).

gay guys usually aren't the ones being misogynistic arseholes.

The "report" by Kimberly Guilfoyle commended the pilot and rightly so. The comments by others while unnecessary and in poor taste don't rise to the vitriol spewed by some on this thread.

Major media centers are subject to scrutiny. That's a bottom line of our modern age right now. I don't have to watch Faux News directly to know what's being said. When the people that represent them mouth off, it gets reported on. And their shitty reputation for this sort of crap precedes them by leaps and bounds.

"Wifey?" C'mon, isn't that a tad on the insult side? Even if Bolling is idiotic.

Also, Gutfield is married.

I almost laughed at the parking one and was ticked with Bolling's remark.

My favorite on the show is Beckel, he's a brave man. He has to do more apologizing than anyone ever. I just love him.

Yes, and as it is in the world, there is always hatred, jealousy and or contempt for who or whatever is number one.
