Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

well as long as they don't also cast sting everything should be okay.

How dare you.

Also, you guys realize a second Spider-Man went by with that new kid and I didn't even notice? Marvel Studios has made the Sony and Fox properties hard to care about. Fox should cash in so we can get a proper FF movie.
Oh, and one for the ledger, I thought THOR: Dark World was weak.

Is this your first time seeing Winter Soldier?

Oh FUCK no. I was there seeing Winter Soldier directly after the S.H.I.E.L.D. tie-in during the series. Like, my bartender where I watch joint was like, at the time, "did you see it?" and I was like, YUPPPP...:D

I am a die-hard fanboy and trust me...I'm re-watching EVERYTHING from the top down in order! Iron Man 1 alla way to Cap Am 2. Got my seat at the bar ready in two weeks when the new S.H.I.E.L.D. starts.

Nah. Thor 2 was SO much better than the first. And with the GOTG tie-in at the end? Cah-maaan!

Word is that Avengers 3 will feature Guardians. Drax will get his vengeance against Thanos. It's gonna be sweet.

Alright, that's what I figured. I'd have been shocked if you hadn't seen it. And, yeah, I'll be buying it. The Captain America series is becoming my favorite of the group. It has a lot of heart mixed into the action.

I haven't seen Guardians yet. Or Winter Soldier.....but I had a real ho-hum response to the second Thor and can't agree that it was better than the first. I gave the first my love just for filming in natural light. And I don't mean the kind that I swilled by the 18-er as a teen. The big showdown happens at high noon in the western town....only Joss one-upped this by staging the invasion of New York in the middle of the day. But...I respect your opinion. I'm going to re-watch dark world with fresh eyes. And try not to question why the primitives have RPGs.

Thor 2 is worlds better than Thor was depending on what you want in a movie. i want to hate the bad guy and the entire movie I spent thinking that Thor was a spoiled and dangerous brat who could literally have started a war what would bring Armageddon to earth because he wanted to prove how big his cock was. Sure Loki nudged him in that direction but that's all he did. Then as soon as he's punished for nearly ending a truce of thousands of years his friends start whining and actively working against Loki who (as far as anybody knew) doing his best to keep his kingdom together while his brother was punished and his father was sleeping. (If the movies took place in a different order it would be okay, with Loki already being established as untrustworthy and evil. As it stands he was a loved member of the family.

From step one they are trying to fuck him. Frankly I would have sent the Destroyer much sooner. I had a really hard time rooting for Thor in that movie and in any sane world he'd be evil rich kid who learns the power of love and is brought back (and he does learn his lesson, just by then Loki is justifiably pissed. . .and had apparently planned the whole thing but that was too little too late as far as I was concerned)

Thor 2 is fun and better at universe building giving us our second Infinity Stone (we've got three now, presumably Space, Power and Mind assuming they didn't swap the colors. None of them appear to be used properly at this point.)

I'll admit that the writers should've structured the look of the various Asgardian worlds and overall society in better alignment with the technology they featured. It's kinda murky when you have a medieval-style sword-n-scabbard kingdom that has access to interstellar tech, energy weapons and stargate ability. However, as we find out through the cross-integration of the Marvel franchises, Asgardians aren't human like we are despite appearances. It's a lazy way out, but you can always leave it up to, "well, they're not human because they have longer lifespans, etc., etc., so..."

From what I understand, Thor and especially Dark World was meant to be the gateway to the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which now I can fully appreciate after Dark World and certain latter episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D. where the agents interact with Asgardians and unknown alien tech. Also, when you see Guardians, you'll see how the ramp-up to Avengers 3 and the use of the various Infinity Stones as plot devices along with people from other worlds are coming into greater focus.

Got done with Iron Man 1 & 2, currently re-watching The Incredible Hulk. I had thought it was fair when I saw it in theaters way back when, but looking at it again, I see it has a lot more nuance that I didn't pick up on at first sight.

I always long of thought Thor was supposed to be a bit pompous and spoiled in his origins . . . but as I only had a cursory knowledge of Marvel to begin with, maybe I'm incorrect?

Man Batman has some serious firepower for a guy who absolutely refuses to shoot anybody under any circumstances. That's the kind of gun where you need to have X-Ray vision to use it because it goes through a half city block and hits some kid you never even knew was there.

Unless you're Batman '89. I'm pretty sure that guy was mowing fuckers down without a second thought.

Also six fucking hours. I'm tempted to join in some Vette style hatred of the silver pony tail freak brigade that thought that timezones were a good idea. Back in his day Californians just worked in the dark and slept during the day like fucking vampires! And they got their tv shows and sporting events at the same time, even if they had to climb Mt. Whitney and watch via telescope!

You need to get on Twitter and read all of your fellow West Coasters wail and gnash teeth at us East Coasters spoiling the shows for all y'all through reveal tweets. Good times. :D

If they make the whole season exactly like the season opener, I won't even need to go to the movies. Shit was fresh and on-point from start to finish.

I wish Lit's spoiler tags didn't suck. (they are basically like PMs I've seen Rob use them) cus I want them. the next time someone opens a whiny bitch thread remember to say somethign about that. I bet Laurel could give us regular tag threads like civilized forums.

FUCKING SPOILERS.
DEAL WITH IT!

First, SHIELD gone dark is a nice touch, I wish it wasn't happening so soon because like so much else of this show I don't want it to last forever. It's strange but i want to know what this particular unit is up to, connect to the next phase of the movies and then move on to the next thing. It's not that I don't love these guys. But I want to see Absorbing man Vs Hulk. He seems a bit low end at this point to fight Hulk but if he can absorb Gamma that's a good move. (In at least one comic and cartoon he absorbs Mljonir {Fuck you, Thor's Hammer's metal. My spelling is garbage} and proceeds to kick the shit out of nearly everybody until Thor is like "oh wait. I command the hammer and you are the hammer. The fight is rather comical after that.)

They cut off Xena's hand?! Bitch is gonna get pissed.really pissed. Wreck shit. Assuming she even survived.

I hope homeboy who's name escapes me gets better. If they were gonna write him off they should have killed him. One of the worst parts of last season was the lack of tension in the finale. They should have cut one of the episodes that nobody really remembers and made the finale a three parter. That and giving Coulson and Fury and the Clairvoyent sometime to work out their ya yas in a safe scenario would have been great. As fun as that whole speech was about "you went crazy because you thought I said a bigger man not a part of something bigger" was, it was really distracting when you had two normal humans (who have mostly been no-nonsense up till then) vs two superhumans who have proven to be bullet resistant. I get that Joss likes witty banter but his roots are Buffy. And Buffy is rarely in danger of being offed by a lucky shot and when she is, she stops joking around. It doesn't work nearly as well with the heros at a distinct disadvantage.

However I'm back on board hardcore. Glad it's not competing with Gotham cus that might be a hard choice.

So Xena's dead after one episode?

And Simmons might be defecting to Hydra?

Jeebus, Whedon. Dial it down, baby.
